Advice of brushless kit to buy

hi there been looking for ages but now im thinking of trying out a brushless setup in my tl-01 chassis, firstly would this take the extra power, most i have had in there is a 14x2 motor. can a brushless be fitted in this chassis, and what type is best to go for, i dont want to spend a fortune on my first try but want it to be quick.  if tl-01 not upto the job what road going car chassis is best suited.

TL01 is an outdated entry level chassis, so I would rather get a better handling chassis like TA05 or TB02 or modern non-Tamiya ones before I upgrade to BL.

nah, TL01 + SS5800 Novak = MEGA FUN!! []

 just make sure your TL01 is fully ballbearing'd.

I'd say a Novak Velociti 5,5t is pretty quick.

Got one in my M02 Alpine...top speed will remain a secret though (>85km/h).[A]

It handles very nice too as it is sensorbased (smooth power control).

It's my first brushless and I have also heard good stories about a Castle Creations Mamba motors or something like that.

Gentlemen, don't forget the most important issue.

BL motors really rev like badword. The have 50.000 to 60.000 rpm and need a super short gearing, to work properly and not to die the thermal death.

I'm running the Novak Velocity 6.5/GTB combo with a gearing of 1:12 to 1:16, depending on the tyre size. As far as I know, you can't have such a short gearing in a TL01.

Improper gearing is the most common fault in motor choice and especially the BLs are not forgiving.

Running the Novak SS5800 in a Top Force and in a Jugg.

Standard gearing in both and no problems with overheating or anything.  That is also using standard Tamiya plugs!

Don't know, but maybe the SS5800 has more torque (and less pace) than the newer ones, hence is less fussy about gearing.

about 40mph on the top force, and about 25-30mph on the Jugg (not speed tested the Jugg yet).
