the general rules are, the lower the number of turns the more top speed you will get however the run times get shorter. Higher wind numbers get longer run times but slower top end. Many many other factors involved as well, but the above holds true.

With an FF chassis (I have the VR6 Golf FF) I wouldnt personally go lower than a 17 or 15 turn. An 8 turn would probably be uncontrollable or at least you would run the risk of damage to the drive train. (Though I could be wrong) As well, the lower number wind motors need a good (usually expensive) ESC. A middle of the road esc that can handle a 15 turn motor wouldnt be as expensive.

Lots of dealers have inexpensive 17T motors for USD 25 or so and they work fine for running in the street. I would bet you will be happy with the increase in peformance of a 17T motor. I have a Tower Hobbies 17T in mine, it goes very well and cost me like 18 USD.

Thats just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

Cracking looking car you have there, both of them.

I looked for one myself but ended up with the M-03L/M instead.

Peak Racing do a range of cheap and cheerfull motors, I have a 15x2 and a 27x2 (Raven and Griffin) and both are very good IMHO.

hi there nice car, had one not long back, i ran a 14 double in mine and found it very twitchy and went through a badword of alot of front tyres. drive train wise it would handle alot more power but getting it down on the road is the problem.

I've just got a ball diff for my M-03 which i believe is the same as the FF02, found one quite cheap on e-bay, could be a worthwhile investment if upping the power.
