Battery and Charger Tips

Ok guys, looking to get back into TCS racing in the GT-2 class. I have no clue about all these different battery types and the charging and storage procedures. I have been looking through the old threads and there is no clear but info what should be done. I am not going to be the most serious racer, just every couple weekends and to tool around with for practice on Saturdays. What kind of packs would you recommend, and what charger would be good to start with to charge them?
