Just wondering whatever happened to this old fella. I know we had an almost completed Sand Scorcher that many members contributed parts and services to, and last I heard, it was gold plated by the mad chemist himself, and sent back somewhere. Do we still know where this car is? Will it ever be raffled?

I say we just take it however it is right now, complete or not, and do what was suggested in the beginning, and if memory serves me, that was to raffle it off to subscribers of Tamiyaclub. Who cares if it is completely finished, I know I would love to have it with all the cool stuff if has right now.

I see another competition coming up! [<:o)]
It was my understanding when I donated parts that this would be a different type of giveaway

I don't have full access to the web at the moment, so I have to keep this short.

I have a plan for the model that

  • doesn't involve selling it
  • doesn't involve auctions
  • doesn't involve competitions
  • doesn't involve me keep it (sadly) [;)]
  • does involve an incredible amount of prestidge to all those people that contributed to it, that will make those that donated parts the envy of other tamiya collector.

When I can finally make the annoucement all those that contributed will have the option of being part of the final plan or having "like for like" parts returned - no questions asked and no hard feelings.

I really am just waiting on an email and then I will make the announcement.

Regards

Chris

That would be a cool thing to do, but may I suggest first sending it around the world to all the different contributers who could then have their pic taken with it and then they could post them here for all to see. it would be funny to see it in different places as it makes it's way around the world...and then finally to Tamiya. of course the cost for shipping it from place to place falls on each person, and of course someone could walk off with it or it could be lost in transit, but I digress....

Just a thought from someone who didn't contribute as they had only just discovered TC when it was going on!
