Rooting thru my shed last week, found my old Mardave

ministock.  I acquired it as part of a garage giveaway when I was

younger (along with a near complete Hi-Lux [;)] ) but never used it

much.  Didn't have much money for spares as a kid, so it got put

away and not played with.

I'm tempted to dig it out and start

putting it back together, but not sure where I should begin.  The

shell is a bit bashed, could do with a new one, the rear axle is bent,

and the spur gears on the rear wheels are worn.  I could try to

hunt down a new shell, new axle and new wheels on ebay and restore it

to stock trim, or I could play about with it and make something

different...

I did consider the possibility of fitting M04 front

hubs and a different rear axle so I can run Tamiya M03 Minilite wheels

or HPI Vintage wheels.  This would mean fitting different bearings

at the back, and finding some kind of spur gear that will fit the axle

(drilled and pinned, or locked with a grub screw.)

Keeping half

an eye out on Ebay as used Ministocks come up quite regularly - missed

out on a damaged one a few months ago which had all the parts to fix

mine to standard trim.

Anyone else like the old Mardave stuff?  How does a Ministock compare to a V12?

Thanks Terry - reet good link, that one!  Might restore the old beast back to stock condition, I guess...  Or just buy a new one [;)]
