The Chassie looks so nice (wish thou it was round pipe chassie for scale look!!!).

The body.... I don´t know yet!
Think of this before you nag about the price: [:)]
Here in Sweden everything is in "kronor" not $ dollar!!! ( $ 1 = 7 kronor. We pay about 15 kronor for a 33cl can of cokacola/pepsi, so you mite understand what I mean). So if the "krona" is low compere to the dollar, we swedes has to pay even more than $350!!!
If the $ is about 8 kronor = 350 x 8= 2800 kronor. If the $ goes up 1 krona. Its in a flash up to 3150 kronor!!!
Even if I buy from Tower or any other international company I´ll pay in Kronor to $!!!
Sweden suck bigtime sometimes!!!

Ahh I remeber going to iceland where it was I think about 100 Kronor to the pound, Conversion rates can flucuate greatly and really upset possible bargains when u think they are but the exchange rate changes.

My Pre-Order has been made [Y]. Now the waiting game begins.  To those interested, if you call you get Darren the owner to speak with and he is always open for conversation in regard to the development of products including the new truck.  So, get your orders in !  The first Pre-production models are currently being shipped to "testers" so that feedback will be brought to the attention of Thundertech for the final production.

To bad you arent one of the testers!!!!! Not very many people on Tamiyaclub would know about it without your post.

I hope to see this when you get it.It just looks like fun.

Yeah, I waited just a little bit too long to phone up or I think I would have had one to test out.  bakaguyjean, order yours up today for free shipping & other "extras", the more that are sold the better for us enthusiasts that like this truck [Y].

I dont think they are going to give me the free shipping here in Japan[:P] But it is on the top of the wish list.I do like the truck. Its just different. It looks like it would hold up pretty well.

Ive just started a new job so its going to be a bit before i can chew into one.

Im going to keep an eye on it.

Have you not checked their website? It's still being developed and production hasn't started yet.

Yes - I checked. I requested a refund from Thundertech in January for my prepaid CORR truck. Darren (The President) immediately refunded my money with a sincere apology for the delay. I have since forgotten the Thundertech CORR-2 truck & used the refund to rebuild a Twin Detonator & also to begin a special Axial Scorpion with the TCS X-Trail Chassis. Shame really, I was looking forward to the CORR :).

Too rich for my blood, but it does look cool, and now it has my wheels turning:

One of the things that has always bugged me about the available 2WD RC kits is that you either have direct-drive solid axle or IRS with a gearbox, and both are rear-motor. This means it's impossible to build any sort of realistic chassis under, for example, a muscle car body.

But what this shows you is that there are all sorts of uses for the deluge of "truck" axles now available, and they don't necessarily have to include big knobby tires and brush guards. Imagine, as an example, how cool it would be to build a chassis with a XC/CC axle in the back, wishbone suspension in front, and a motor mounted longitudinally where the engine would go in a 1:1 car. For gear reduction, use a planetary gear set, possibly one of the ones available for RC aircraft, so everything stays nice and in line. Now top it off with your favorite RWD, straight-axle road car body, and you have a vehicle worthy of sitting on a trailer behind your High Lift.

Sigh... Yet another in a long list of "things I'd do if I could spend massive amounts of cash on toy cars."

Im sorry the whole Corr truck didnt work out. I was interested in seeing this thing. A least the guy refunded your money.

So is this truck just hype? I found out about this beauty last november but after reading this thread, Thundertech clearly hasn't made any progress for a much longer time and have lost any hopes of seeing it go into production. Could it be because of a bad planning move to use the XC rear end? Because those parts aren't exactly in abundance. I wonder if that's their holdup?

(Some RC4wd T-rex's may work instead)

no i didn't make it. it actually uses a hornet/grasshopper tub and gearbox; solid axle with no torque twist. body ia from a nikko hevy hitters that has been highly modified and reinforced.

That is by far, hands down, the best Hornet/Grasshopper chassis car I have ever seen! Great work. More pictures of the chassis with the body off would be most welcome.

Hype ? No. Putting the cart before the horse ? Perhaps. It seems to be an evolving design change with no ETA. If it ever does hit the shelves I'll have another look at it. Thundertech stuff is very well done, I just ran out of patience on my order.

I'll agree, it's a nice design, I'm just wondering if they shot themselves in the foot by sourcing the rear end from the XC. And while I believe the XC rear end is durable, not overly engineered and seems "just right," they probably could have gotten into production making their own or sourcing another. Also there are plenty of well engineered products that failed simply because of extended time in over development. There's a point when more potential consumers will lose interest waiting like you.
