spending spree!!

Recommended Posts

Your Mission: spend $5000(given to you by some nice person, for example pleiku68[:D]) on r/c related items vintage or new. What would you get and if you feel inclined to expand please explain why. Just use an average for vintage NIB kits i.e. a sand scorcher would be around $2,000. $5,000may seem like a large dollar amount, but i'm sure if some of you were to add up the value of your collections they would far excede that! **WARNING: I don't recommend adding up the value of your collections as this may cause sudden heart failure!**  This note will self destruct when you stop replying to it. oh by the way here are my pics in no particular order. . . .

 1. NIB rough rider

2. NIB ford ranger XLT

3. NIB super Champ

4. Nice runner ford ranger XLT

5. use the rest on some vintage parts for them.

In no particular order:

NIB King Cab 58081 - this was my first Tamiya, 2nd-hand and

ruined when I got it.  Would love to build and run one from

new.  Can't find one on ebay but, approx $500 ?

NIB Calsonic Primera 58151 - had a 1/1 Primera, and would love

to have an FF01 chassis for playing about with.  Nothing on ebay

at the mo, but saw one for about $400 a few months ago.

NIB TLT Rockbuster to keep and run standard (they're so cute!)  Again can't find any NIB but expect about $250

NIB TLT Rockbuster to convert into 1/10 crawler - about $500 to get the main thing built, I'd imagine...

NIB TRF501X for racing - $500

NIB TRF415MSX for racing - $500

Probably

a few more NIB kits that take my fancy - Desert Gator or Sand Viper,

then the rest on radio systems, hop-ups for the TXT, 501, dark impact,

and general goodies for the whole collection.

Good thread [Y]

My most wanted list changes from week to week as I collect the cars, so at the moment I'm in late '80's buggy mode.

So the list is:

NIB Avante

NIB Egress

NIB Vanquish

and top it off with a NIB Ranger.

All would be built, but not run.

IF I have any money left over it would be spent on a few ESC's for these. This is only a wish list though....no way I would actually spend that amount of money on so few cars.

I would try to buy as many as possible of the first 50 Tamiya RC kits as runners, restored or new built (guess averagibng around $200 per piece) but wait, that's what am already doing since 6 years [:P] LOL

Cheers

With the asking price at ebay, trying $50,000.00!  But, hey if someone gave me $5K and I have to spend it on RC (won't argue with this person thats for sure), I'll get NIB the Blazer and Hilux (wonder if $5,000.00 will cover it?)  Any left over $, if any, buy radio equipment, paint and batteries, because I will built it and run it...gently.

I would buy the original molds of the Tamiya Cheetah.

Dee.

Dude, from your Hummer project, I am sure you make everything your own and with good results.

Some good stuff so far and i guess i should have clarified from my orignal post that the person who gave you the money did so with the provision that it must be spent on R/C items. so as much as you want to give it to charity you can't, that's what the rest of  your piles of cash are for[:)] so corpse thrower don't feel bad to spend the money on so few if that's what you would want, go for it! remember it's money you never had and in reality it probablly  would never happen but hey you can dream.

Dee, we all know secretly you'd spend some of it on another hummer to make even better than your current one (but, is that possible... NO)

# all aftermarket parts for 1x leo 2a6 (full alloy drivetrain)

then .. the money is gone already!

Or, if tools can be counted also.

A decent full option small cnc mill setup.

Ok slither, I got you through.

What secret NIB(s) are you gonna sell for a BIN?

You obviously need $5000,- and you're testing the waters, aren't you?

Tsk, tsk, tsk!

1. NIB Bruiser

3. F-350

4. TRF-415 MSX MR

5. TB Evo V

... and that wouldn't leave me much change.

@MadAx

You can purchase NIB RockBuster TLT-1's from a number of US on-line hobby stores for less than $100.  I bought mine last Christmas for $79 (check my showroom for action pics).  They're now selling them for $69....
