What cars do you all drive?

Recommended Posts

Nah, no disrespect to Kamtec but that looks more like a Vauxhall Chevette than a Corrado! It would have to be Tamiya quality for me to consider it.

I hear what you are saying :)

I have a couple.

74 Plymouth Valiant Police Special 360 4bbl, 727 tranny with 8 3/4 rear and 3:23 posi spool. 68,000 original miles on this one

IM000080.jpg

85 Buick Regal Grand National Clone. 377 Stroker small block Chevy, 474 flywheel HP, 395 rear wheel HP. It wasnt always this pretty.

This is what she started out as.

IM000081.jpg

My daily driver. 98 Monte Carlo LS 3.1v6 with a 1100cfm throttle body upgrade. It has spanked many 5.0 and 4.6 Mustang GTs till the computer shuts her fuel flow off at 116mph. All the while I get 32 highway and 28 around town mpg.

Now for my Babies!

My 2 Puller Garden Tractors. The Red one is a slightly warmed over 14hp Kohler dynoed at 23hp. It pulls either 1st 2nd or 3rd in every pulling event, pulls in the 12-14 hp stock class.

The Orange one is a slighly tweeked 16hp Kohler dynoed at 52hp. I have to run this in the Single Cylinder Modifide Class. Undefeated, even against the twin Cylinder Class that I voulenteer to pull in at every event. I have over $3500 in just the motor of this one.

In my formative years, I had a 1962 Holden,

Then a VERY low '67 Beetle.... I can't find any photos of, though.

A boring 1993 Holden Commodore VR that's not worth photographing.

A Nissan Pulsar SSS

and now, my wee Frontera.

I also have club raced and hill climbed an Escort snotter

And a 1974 Skyline GT

If we are talking what we used to drive...

When I finished college I bought a 1990 5-point-oh GT Mustang - two years later I was fed up with left hand drive so I bought a 1994 Nissan Skyline GTS25t - two years after that I imported a 1994 Mitsi Evo II from Japan....

Then I discovered motorcycling and never looked back!

I wouldnt be caught dead on one of these little beasts without wheelie bars, not only that, but its a pulling tractor rule to have them. And the orange one needs then about 1/2-3/4 down the track.

Currently in my fleet are: '73 VW Beetle, '84 and '85 Pontiac Fieros, '80 Ford Pinto (awaiting a 302 swap), '90 Ford 5.0 Mustang LX, '86 Chevrolet Corvette, '01 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24, '99 Chevrolet Blazer. Keeping up all those cars plus the Tamiyas plus house upkeep plus a full time job, plus restoring cars for folks on the side leaves me with very little time to sleep!

As always Roop, the RS500's looking absolutely stunning. Have you got it with you now, or is it still here in the UK?

Me? I race a Mk1 MR2 in a series designed just for them here in the UK. So far I've competed in 5 races, finishing no lower than 6th and getting on the podium twice, and this is my first ever season of car racing. For more info, have a quick peek at http://alexgassman.com Quick piccy -

Nice stuff, I almost bought a MK1 MR2, but the 205 was just that bit quicker. I'd wanted both since I was a little kid, so I'm sure I'll get one someday. Maybe a nice V6 one...

Nice car, think I've seen it in either Retro Cars or Practical Performance Car magazine?

Thanks. Magazine articles won't be my car though - It has been in Fast Ford and also cover car and middle pager from RS Owners Club Magazine (Rallye News).

Thanks  Car is here in Switzerland but is undergoing legalisation. Has been with Eggenberger Motorsport since March but if all goes well I will pick her up late this week and drive on Swiss plates. First RS500 to be imported into Switzerland. ;) Big Ford show here in Switzerland at the weekened so would be great to attend with car.

I know this forum ask what car you drive.

But I have poll

For the same price would you go for a new 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STi

or

2004 E240 Benz with 31,000km?

I am depress. :)

Depends what you want from the car - if you want to cruise distance effortlessly in luxury go for the Benz or if you want to drive around like your hair is on fire and attack every twisty road you come across - get the STi :)
