 Ive never seen metal gears for a TL-01,if you take care of the plastic ones they should last forever, they are very strong gears.Hope that helps[]

GPM makes an alloy spur gear for the TL-01 but it is not needed... The Ballistic Baja Champ (TL-01B) did 0-60 MPH in two seconds and its gears were just fine.

Show me a TL-01 that stripped a gear (with proper motor mounting) and I will eat my hat. []

exactly - The large gear face can take a very large load as there is a larger surface area upon which the transfer of rotation will occur.

The stock ones are fine - Should find some on ebay - unfortinately I sold all my gear spares for the TL01 []
