As a former casemodder I like to give projects a little extra. Right now I am workin on a F-350 HL. Theme is PussyWagon from KillBill-movie, and I did style the transmitter in style of that theme:

Am I a trendsetter or are there more pimped radios out there?

I stripped the whole thing, just the aluminum decals are very fragile and like to bend easily. Next week I receive two stainless shiftgates to complete the radio.

The two emblems I did find at Ebay, they are little pins, kind of merchandise item that Ford dealers give away. Just cut of the pin with a Dremel and glued with epoxy wil do the job. I did pay 4 or 5 euros for the two pins. Check out the second pic, next to your faux dampers [H]

I think so, I can't believe I have never done it before was very easy and looks excellent, I gave it a few coats of lacquer as well just to make it that little bit more durable.

Well done for doing it and thanks for the idea!

PS: I still think yours looks better than mine. I love yellow cars (my real car is even yellow) but just couldn't bring myself do a Lunch Box stock colours!

Mark - going back to your Futaba transmitter. I've just got a new one exactly the same from Stella Models but want to check something in the tech spec/setup, but its only come with Japanese instructions. I don't suppose you know the right link on the Futaba website to download the English manual? I've trawled through the website and can't find the right download for the 4VWD. Cheers.

Somehow I doubt it will include instructions how to dismantle it for painting purposes though!!! [:D] Great job. [Y]

Well my usual method is to take all of the screws out do what I want to do  (paint it in your case) then TRY and remember where all of the screws and springs went.... After failing putting it together look for some good pictures of what the controller should look like and I usually get it right in the end [:D]

Here are all the manuals: http://www.futaba-rc.com/manuals/index.html , but the 4VWD is unfortunatly not listed. Can't help you with that, but you should mail them, they respond very fast and correct.

Dismanteling is a piece of cake, unscrew the ones on the back, remove antenna and thats it. Be carefull with the aluminum faceplate sticker, it will deforme very easy, gladly Futaba did send me a spare one without charge but they normaly don't have spares, I was lucky. Beter use masking tape instead of removing the thin alu-plate.
