What an increadible turn of events....sometimes things are just meant to happen!

For over a year now I have been searching for the last two kits in my collection of the Optima series. These last two kits will give me every single Optima ever produced - right from the very first chain drive optima through to the final "mid" version.

Last week I won one of the kits on ebay - lucky score (thanks to auction sniper), and the plantets just started to align after I sold the Bruiser, as the money from that has allowed me to get the final kit I needed to complete the entire collection of Nichimo buggies NIB, plus some left over to get a few more towards my final goal.

15 hours after starting the auction for the Mountaineer at one dollar and getting a tonne of emails, out of the blue on the day before Christmas eve, I get an email regarding my Mountaineer auction....asking if I would be interested in selling direct or trading for (I could not beleive this), the last kit that I needed for the Optima collection. The buyer wanted to know how much the shipping would be to Australia and if I could please insure and pack it well for the trip. Pfttttt - obviously not too bad as I am there too...............then the most increadible group of words appeared before my eyes - the buyer lived only 10 minutes away! I obviously said I could offer the very best insurance - I could bring it to his house myself!

On Christmas eve the deal was done,( I closed the auction - as I had stated that I reserved the right to end it early and was taking trades) a new friendship was started and I completed my collection of the Optima clan.

I was happy as I had extra cash to put in the kitty and my final Optima kit - and he was happy as the mountaineer really was a car he desperately wanted all his life.........two very happy chappies on Christmas day for sure.

Cheers

Darryn

JOCKTHEGLIDE,

exactly as it came to me, honestly this kit was at least a 9.5 out of 10 for interior condition - even the foam supports for the chassis were perfect..not a blister cracked - and the whole chassis was shiny spotless.

Hellbely - thanks mate - It really was just an amazing turn of events - I cant wait to take the line up pic of all the Optima's........

Cheers

Congratulations mate [Y]

Knowing the tiny odds of this happening, it is unbelievable. You really just have to throw your hands up and say "it was meant to be". There's nothing else you can say.

You also start to think "what if I missed out?". What if that kit hadn't gone to you mate, and you heard about it later?  [:|]

It's probably on a par in the "amazing find" stakes, with my find last xmas. However that was found in a shop less than 10 minutes from my house. More like about 7 minutes. So maybe I still hold the record [H] [8-|] [:P].

cheers,

H.
