Perusing the instruction book and eBay for bearing sets, I notice that there is a minor discrepancy.

The instructions list 11 little metal bearings - 3 for use in the gearboxes and 8 in the suspension cantilevers.

All the listings I have found sell sets with only 3 - presumably for the gearbox, not the suspension.

Is it worth ballracing the suspension as well, or do you think they will just disintegrate too quickly ?

Ballracing the suspension means you can run the canterlevers dry, with no grease. this means all the muck thrown up by the tyres wont stick to your suspension system. Apart from that, they wont make much difference. I've ballraced by txt-1s suspension as the bearing set i got came with the extra bearings.

I agree with mymonsterbeetleisbroken, it wouldn't matter if you put them in the cantelivers as they don't make full 360 degree revolutions as they would in the gearbox. Although I did used them in my aluminum cantelivers on my TXT. I guess if you have extras, use 'em.
