Hi Everyone

Im thinking of making a southcoast runners group seeing as theres not much in the way of meetings in the south coast we could arrange bash's (like the yoevil bash some of us attended) and have fun

you would have to make it to a minimum of two meetings with other club members a year (whether they be local or big events) to join but thats it so it would keep the rules simple !

Please let me know if theres any intrest

cheers

Count me in providing it's close to me (well closeish).

Did you have any locations in mind ?

Daz.

Well Dazman, having looked at your profile it seems that you're located in the UK so trying to determine any sort of location close to you presents other members immediately with problems. If only members could be more specific with their locations on their profile pages then that would help tremendously in trying to organise such events, especially living myself in Hampshire which on its own is such a large county.

Both Chain Driven and myself have put posts up in the meetings and events forum but have attracted very little attention, and those trying to organise an event won't be very keen to supply maps, check out pubs and refreshments for perhaps a large group of people if in the end, only their mates really have any intention of showing up.

Prior to these smaller groups starting up, I was myself thinking of starting a link to a web site containing aerial photos and multimap links for various suitable locations, also containing information for facilities like food and toilets etc, so members could quite easily post a simple message saying I will be at South Coast Runners Group, location Blah Blah Blah on a certain date/time etc.

So "Yes" a good idea. Chain Driven, Munchkin Rebel and myself probably went out about 20 times last year (and we're out for about 5 hours each time) so there's no shortage of people willing, but having seen some of the locations used in the action/events photos it doesn't inspire us to attend many of those arranged by others.

Apologies for the rant, but whoever takes this up, needs to be an inspiring driver.

For previous posts, have a look at these.

Hi Mud,

I just looking in my forum profile and "about" section I have put Portsmouth UK.

Ah

then again I only did that this evening upon finding this thread, I

think the server may have been on catch up and you replied before the

server made my changes live, sorry.

I also put a more imformative post in the meetings/events section of this thread.

I appreciate that organising these meeting can be a right pain in the you know what [;)]

I was gutted I missed the

West Wittering bash, I didn't discover TC until NOV having only recently got back into the hobby.

Bigwheels_inc:  I'm up for it.  I have a Sand Viper, a Baja King,  a King Hauler and a Pershing...and if it's really wet, a couple of boats too!  I could even make it a couple of times a year, though with advancing age, my memory for dates and times is rapidly failing!

Moved it to the more appropriate meeting section, but the forum doesnt provide the option of merging or moving posts to another threads. If thread creator agrees I can lock this one though.
