Does anybody know the size of the motor pinion on the 58036? Wild Willy has a 15t but I know it is larger in the Audi.

Is the idler gear the same size in these two cars?? (the next gear after the motor pinion)

Thanks, Mankku

Idler gear on the Wild Willy (next gear from the motor) is part number E5 and is 20T. On the Audi it is part number J4 listed as 20T plastic gear (next gear from the motor) and is also 20T.

 Hope that helps

I know that the gearbox plate is diffrent in WW and Audi, I got them both and the hole for the idler shaft (the hole that is shaped like a halfmoon) is little more to the side on the Audi giving space for a larger motor pinion.

And the original question was the size of the motor pinion in the Audi. Info about gearboxes in the Opel and the Wheeler is also welcome.

Thanks so far, Mag

My old MRC catalouge lists the Audi, Opel and Wheeler motor as being the same with the pinion already fitted. It doesn't list the pinion as a seperate item or say what size it is. All 3 manuals give no ref to the pinion size either.

I think the only way to solve this is to get someone to pull the motor from one of the above and count the teeth. Sadly don't have them to check.

Makes sense, because the gearbox´s plastic cover only allows 2 different ratios (2 holes for the idler shaft). The Wild Willy with a 15t pinion and the Audi, Opel and Wheeler with a larger pinion. The idler gear (20t plastic) and the clutch gear are probably the same for all 4 cars and also the whole rear axel.

Hi!

i think that i can be of some help on this matter..... [;)]

Wild Willy, Willy's Wheeler, Audi and Opel has the same idler, clutch and gear assembly but pinions are different.

Wild willy has a 15T pinion on the motor Willy's Wheeler, Audi and Opel has a 17T (long gear for a little faster riding).

Hope this help.

Well I read i another forum that the Audis pinion has 18t?  By the way the gearbox plate is different in the WW and the Audi. The hole for the idler gear is little more to the side in the Audi giving more space for a larger pinion. So the gearbox plates are not interchangeble in WW and Audi (without changing also the pinion)

Hi

i'm sorry i had mine Audi Opel motor in hand, counted 18 and wrote 17....... [:$]

The right number is 18T for Audi Opel and Wheeler pinion.

If you are looking for an original Wild Willy motor with pinion (15T) email me, probably i can help.

Sorry again.
