There were a few Holiday Buggy 'clones' relesaed - one did have a red/orange bodyshell, but no driver.

I had a smaller bump'n'go musical one for a while too

Clones [:S]

Fascinating to see them though. They make for fun souvenirs in a way.

Off the top of my head, the Holiday Buggy, Wild Willy, Grasshopper, Supershot, Fox, and Manta Ray (just listing cars from the first 100 Tamiyas) have all been cloned or ripped off in some form or other. I'm sure there are more out there (feel free to fill in the blanks, Theo [;)]). You could probably argue that the Royal Ripper was a royal ripoff of the Hotshot, though it wasn't identical.

As the oldest saying goes, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery....

cheers,

H.
