Time for another meet in Somerset, I think!

Any interest, post your name here!!

Suggested

location: Ham Hill Country Park just off the A303 near Yeovil. Short

grass, flat running areas, small hills, big hills, muddy slopes, rocky

slopes - everything for buggies, truggies, trucks, monsters and even a

little bit for crawlers (it's my favourite TXT playground).

As

always, alternate location suggestions are happily received - however

Ham Hill proved to be a very popular venue last time around and is a

regular spot for me to bash alone, even tho it's an hour's drive away.

Start suggesting dates - Saturdays or Sundays :) End of Jan / 1st week in Feb is sounding good to me...

Hiya!

Wondered when this would come around again.  Repaired my Top Force but not the Dyna Storm after the last bash.  Think I would be up for it again, but a bit chaotic at this end.  Will provisionally say "I'll be there" and confirm later down the line.

Come on guys & gals.  This was a superb meet last time!  Well worth 1.5 hours travelling.  More people needed!

Maybe we should make up a cheap peg-board this time.  All we need is some wood pegs and a board.  I will see what is left in the shed.

Peg board would be a good idea - there were so many runners last time that frequencies got a bit awkward!

I've

got a spare bit of board in the shed, might make up a peg board later

on.  I guess we need one side for 40MHz channels (10 of them,

IIRC..?) and one side for 27MHz...

Members are welcome to make / bring their own special "customised" pegs tho [:D

Alex and I would be up for this, and we've got some free weekends coming up. He'll be wanting to play new TXTs with you Mad Ax... whilst I'm still trying to make my mind up for a Clod crawler chassis.

Sorry to be dim but what is a 'pegboard' used for?

A pegboard is a board with all the frequencies written on it.

When you're about to run your car, you put a peg on the frequency

you'll be using, so nobody else uses that frequency.  If the

frequency already has a peg on it, either don't turn on your

transmitter or change crystals.

We did have a bit of a problem with frequencies last time, I was forever changing crystals to keep my 27MHz cars going.

Hopefully we've got enough crystals between us to keep everything moving!

Come on people, what happened to all those we had last time around?

Tell your friends - TC meet in Somerset - early Feb!!

PS

bring your crawlers - there are fantastic areas for climbing that

nobody checked out last time, my TXT loves Ham Hill...

1st weekend in Feb is 3rd and 4th

Or  10th and 11th

I'm OK to do Sat or Sun on either of those weekends - it's all up to you guys [:)

Posted

I can do either too, but Alex can only make it on the 11th. If we left it to the later weekend, its more likely I may have recieved my new crawler parts by then and could try out newly built monster [:)]

I'll try and bring some old knackered Mini shells and we can have some scale car crushing fun. [;)]

well, that's two for the 11th...

and one for Not the 11th...

Anyone care to cast votes on a date?

Posted

Hoping to make it briefly, not 100% though  [:|]

If I can, will only bring the brushless Juggy and the Gecko Crawler.  Not time to get the buggy's, mini's etc working.  [:(]

Buggies should always be working, given that they are the most fun things ever invented

Very true, but I broke mine (Top Force) and the wife's (Dyna Storm) last time out.

Still can't get the part to fix the wife's, and the poor Top Force needs a gearbox overhaul (Brushless is fun for about 50 runs, then the gears start to die!)

Will see what I get time to fix.  Baby Evan is taking up most of my time - wouldn't be without him though.

Best of luck, hope to see you there [:)]

Altho your brushless juggy is faster than the average buggy, anyway... [;)]

Alex and I are looking forward to seeing you guys next Sunday. We'll come along at about 11am.

It would be lovely to have done it today; the weather is so crisp and clear. We could have got some nice photos in the frost!
