Hi All,

After some rear tyres for a Boomerang as I'vre resurrected the old girl for my nephew to use and the rears are worn out, Tamiya oval blocks would be ideal but wayyyyyyyy to expensive on Fleabay?!!!

I notice the rears from a Wild One look identical, anyone know if they'd fit?

Anyone got some ideas of tyres I could get to fit the rears, maybe from a more modern car, that won't require me to apply for a new mortgage!!!

Welcome to the club, it starts with getting your old car up and running and ends up with a whole fleet of them!

Wild One rears are the same Tamiya oval blocks as on the Boomerang, so will be the same price. If you want to run it there are two alternatives as all modern buggies use 2.2 inch diameter tyres, while the Boomerang wheels are only 2 inch diameter.

Schumacher still make 2 inch diameter tyres which will fit, classed as their 'originals' range and can be ordered direct from them.

The other alternative is to replace the triangular wheel drives with a modern hex drive (any will fit) and use any modern set of 2.2 inch diameter wheels and tyres. This would also mean you have a wide selection of tyres to choose from.

I know that the Wide Stud Spike Tires (part No. 53059 or OP-59) are still available from Tamiya and that these will fit the rears of the Boomerang as these are what I used to replace the oval block tyres on my Fox.  There may be more types available that will fit from Tamiya but I can't think of any off hand.
