srb question

hi chaps

Quick question I’m maybe a bit slow so sorry for this (I’m still learning about the srb cassis0 there seems too be two types of front axle mount one with screws and on with cast on lugs for the torsion bar m29 and m28. I take it one is an early type and on a later type does any one know which is which or was  it specific to a particular model i.e. ford ranger only?

That was a very early amendment - I've never had an SRB with screws, but I have had twin bearing axles, thru hole body posts etc.

i think that the screws were the earlier of them, Or that was what i was told a while back.

So what are the other differences that I should be on the look out for? I know a black bumper is from an earlier production run but know little of the other items twinset as mentioned does any one have any pictures?

Hmm,

The screws in the shock towers were the earlier ones,

There are some changes with the gear-cover and the radio-box lids, some of them have a vent-hole, some don't!

Can't remember anymore, we'll have to wait for Shodog to come in here

There were also at least two different gearbox castings, apart from the Super Champ version; one was solid between the rear cage screw holes, the other had a recess cast in

Then I think one had 'nubs' in the radio box recess part of the casting?

There were also several versions of the gearbox castings. The most obvious difference was that the early ones had two separate lugs to bolt the rear cage to, later ones had a solid single piece across the back as the gap between the lugs is filled in.

I think i'm pretty sre i have an earlier one in that case cause mine features the gap one the gearbox......ooh i'm so proud of it[:#]

everyone else pretty much got all the differences.  Really early srb's hav flat headed screws instead of the philips heads
