Hello,

I'm not sure where to post this.

I now have my Blackfoot Extreme built and running, and I am thinking in a new project.

Project would be to get a buggy (say Falcon, Big Wig or Manta Ray style), get it big wheels (say BF wheels), and probably an extra monster truck shell.

It has to be Tamiya, 1/10 scale, 4WD, 4 long oil shocks, ESC (if possible), 540 silver can. Also, it has to be a SOLID one.

It also has to be a modern chassis still sold

I have many questions about it :

1/ can big wheels be mounted on buggies (size matter) because of often found shape of the chassis (larger between front and rear axles) ?

2/ does the provided ESC (or Tamiya's ESC) fit for the extra weight of big wheels ?

3/ are the other parts solid enought to deal with such big wheels ? (arms, shock fixations, 4WD transmission etc...)

Has this already been done before ? (links please)

Is it a stupid project ?

Thanks for help and comments

Hi mate, i have a Rising Storm thats fitted out with huge wheels/tyres and handles a dream!

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...078&id=6564

I have proline wheels and tyres fitted and all i did to ensure they didnt put too much strain on the car, was to change the pinion and install a better ESC.

I run a 13 triple motor so i needed a good ESC, its an absolute blast to drive and there is no issues with the wheels/tyres rubbing the chassis/shell.

Any more question or pics required, just ask.

Cheers

The question is, what kind of vehicle do you want? A mini-monster-truck, then IMO go for a TL01 chassis, ie Stadium Raider.

Order:

 0005688 x2 (Wild Dadder C-parts)

either 9805563 (Mad Bull rear wheels/tyres) or 0440024 & 50374 (Wild Dagger wheels/tyres) 2 sets of each, or you could look in the CML catalogue.

 9805585 x2 (threaded shaft)

50596 x4 (ball connector cup)

9805551 x4 (Wild Dagger dogbone)

9805825 x2 (ball connector)

50592 x2 (ball connector)

a set of cva oil dampers are a cheap option for suspesion, or you could fit a set of Maxx shocks (ebay or lhs) along with eiter a home made shock tower, or some off ebay (just tap in "wild dagger"). For the later you'll need; 9400455 (F350 High-Lift E-parts bag, it'll contain all that's needed to fit the shocks to the truck.

Motor/esc upgrade are up to you.

All of these upgrades gets you one of these; rcpics007-1.jpg?t=116806866

This is my lad's basher.

Hope this helps.
