Anyone else use Ultrasonic Cleaners for their RCs?

What solvent/solution/detergents do you use & for what?

How long to buzz them for?

More effective than scrubbing with a toothbrush? [:)]

Hey, yes,

i am using a utrasonic clean thingy, works good!

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.a...32&sid=1546  (little story :) )

I use the -stock- cleaner, but using it also with dishwashing-soap.

If the dirt is really hardcore on metal, i use pure thinner (WARNING do this outside, not that safe to do)

i'll set it on 5 minutes, and , not clean enough? just give it another <bbzzzzzz> , do read the manual,

as to many runs in short term can overheat the clean-thingy.

hmm.. Frog gearbox like that... might be easier to chuck them into a large can of Shellite (petroleum spirit) and give it a soak & shake.

For super greasy stuff... haha a workshop "parts washer" might work better.

yeah these machines can heat up. Specs say the smaller ones consume ~55W so that's quite a bit of power to dissipate. Some of the fancier machines now have fan cooling too.
