hi can anyone help me i can't get the darn thing started and i don't know enough about nitros to know the problem.

i've done a few bits

i changed the glow plug, adjusted the needle valve so it's open 2 and a half turns i even took the air filter off incase that was stopping something ???

it started a few times but the reved for 2 seconds and died and wouldn't go again

any help would be great cheers

i dont have a mad bison, but i have a nitro. When it reved, did it rev fast or slow. Did you change the carb valve or the idle valve? Make sure the idle on the remote isnt too high. Put a few drops of nito fuel into the air filter hole. What king of glow starter do you have- charge one or one that you put batteries in. Im not really an expert, but they are the basic things you need to do.

Sorry if its no good to you, or if you've already done it.

I have a TG10 which is very similar to the bison and when I had the original engine had alot of similar problems, to get it to go I had to:-

- make sure the throttle stop screw is holding the carb open about 1mm

- 2 1/2 turn open fuel mixture should be pretty close

- prime the fuel 2 more pumps than you think you need

- when it starts hold the glow starter on it for a few seconds till it stabilizes

This worked some times but after a while it would not even idle!

You should also look at also getting a new clutch, the 'o' ring holding the shoes together stretches very quickly with the heat and engagues the clutch at idle causing it to stall..[8)]

Or even better get a OS .15CVX, the tamiya engine is enough to get it going when new, but not really worth anything![:P]

hi cheers for the advice i'll give it a go and see what happens. but i have tried nearly all that, gonna strip it down and see if i can find anything stuck in it. i think i'll be sticking to electric cars and trucks there far easier. i might venture to a savage with the electric start if i can get one for a good price.

thanks

As long as the engine turns over I can't see any advantage stripping it down!

I know you used a new glow plug but Its best to check it again as I have had a few that brand new don't work!![:(!]

Theory is if you have compression a working plug and fuel it should go so I would stick to working out which you don't have!!

I know what you mean about the electric cars they are so much easier, I have several, the best being a M03 mini cooper which is faster than my hopped up TG10!!

Good luck!

Always use fresh fuel.

If your fuel has been sitting around for a few weeks,

throw it away and buy some fresh supply.

Buy from a hobby store that has high turnover too, as

fuel that's sitting on the shelf for 6 mths = stale.
