Will adding aluminium parts on my TT-01 Add weight? Or will it weigh the same?

I would like to know because I want to race my TT-01 to see how well I can do against other kits! lol

Anyhelp would be great!

Thanks

It'll add weight! If you want to go light-weight, go with carbon fibre or titanium. Only trade off is that carbon fibre is brittle and both are expensive. If you are aiming to race it look at your tyres, motor and general set-up of the car first. Even try a race with your car in standard form to see it's weak point and what needs improving!

Yes, most alloy parts just add weight and do nothing for performance. First upgrade to the car must be ballraces. There are a few alloy parts that will improve a TT-01 and are recommended upgrades. The alloy propshaft and motor mount are very necessary if you are running a faster motor than standard as the plastic propshaft flexes and starts hitting the chassis, the alloy motor mount helps to cool the motor. These parts also improve performance with the kit motor. The alloy steering parts take out a lot of the play in the kit setup, but i would add oil shocks to improve the handling first.

Most other parts will make no difference to the performance and will just add weight. Might look prettier but won't go any faster.

As terry has said there are a few aluminum parts needed.

Prop to remove flex, ball races - I recormend Walawala on ebay as they are dirt cheap and super quality + service

Steering is usful tho I still have the stock setup thats working superb.

I would recormend mostly the adjustable upper arms and some turnbuckles for the steering as well as the ball races, alloy prop and motor mount as well as a simple heatsink.

What motor are you looking to use? as a tt01 will quickly start to get outgunned in higher motor classes.

The Motor is a 15 Turn Trinity. I need help with the gearing though?

Whats the best gear combo?

I already have an alloy prop shaft because the plastic one was a piece of poop molded into a shaft! It bent really bad!  I also already got the Bearings also...

Im gonna get the motor mount asap & also some decent shocks, and An upper Carbon brace.

Other than that, I was thinking about getting some steel U joints for the front and rear. the stock ones are really crappy.

What about some metal prop shaft joints? Will that add streingth?

Gear ratio I would probably go for a 21 tooth pinion tho I would have to know what kind of track you are racing upon to give more accurate advice.

The carbon uppper brace will be usful for the amount of power you are running - With the TT01 this is about the limit and if you plan to race I would advise a more race tuned chassis i.e. TA05  tho for bashing a TT01 is still superb due to its durability.

best regards Ryck
