As long at it's not clashing with the Tamiya Eurocup meetings, I would be interested in racing in either class 1 or class 2.

M-Chassis racing at my local R/C club are getting a steady flow of racers, so I may be able to presuede a couple of them.....

We have requested the use of the venue for Sunday 13th of May, which has been verbally approved, so we're on. We will upload a booking from via www.lormcc.com in the very near future. In the meantime, if you want an enrty email me via this (or other) forums. Due to pit space restrictions, I expect 90 or places will be the max, and then, nobody had better f**t [+o(] so "Book early"

The class structures are in place, however, we want everyone to have an oportunity to enter, so ask me if your car falls between class's for any clarification.

Due to local demand, we expect class 1 to get the most entries, and class 3 the least. There must be plenty of you out there that still own HPI RS4 Mini's, Corally Mini Assassin's, old Yoke Mini's, as well as the modern stuff from XRay, ABC, Tech Racing etc etc for class 3, or what about a class 3 FWD with all the bit's. Plenty of "hot" bashers in the showrooms.

In Class 2, I am confused about the Wheel/Tyre rule. Can any size be used ie 55/60D and Touring car size OR just limited to any 55/60D (My preference)

Hi

Class 2 is restricted to Mini wheels only so 55/60 but Tamiya Radial Tyres - any compound - only, so no slicks.

The surface is Carpet. Grip levels are generaly good, though a bit slippy to start, but this is probably because we change track layout every week, and it's a bit green to start with.

Truth is, I had hoped that to be correct. When we (LORMCC) 1st started the Mini's we looked at various other clubs spec's - you posted yours for me somewhere - but we then went our own way. My hopes are that all the other club's racing Mini's will fall into Class 2, the 2 local clubs will populate Class 1, and we'll then pick up odd entries into all 3.

I believe the technical term is F.U.B.A.R. Our webmaster is now re-writing the programme as we speak, but I've been warned it may take a week or so to resolve (something about having to work!!!!!!)

Bit more info. Entry fee's are £6.00 for the initial entry into one class, then if you want to enter another class, a further £2.00. Doors to open at 9.00am, with Round 1, Heat 1 to start at 9.45am. (we'll be there setting up before that, so if you're early, don't worry) We will have a minimum of 4 qualifying rounds and 2 finals, but this is if we have to cap the entries. If time permits, we'll add extra rounds.

There's been lot's of interest, should be a fun event.

Question? Just wondered, a lot of you seem to know each other, your from different parts of the UK, and you seem to have raced Mini's against each other, where and when?

I'm one of the interested people kevin was talking about.  We (me, kevin and occasionally alan and a growing number of others) race minis every sunday at purton near swindon. the rules we use are almost identical to your 'miglia' class, with the addition of rear drive m-chassis being allowed as well. see here: www.swindonmodelcarclub.co.uk

don't know who simon is though?!

Hi,

I meet alan at a fun race meet at paddock wood hop farm a few years back, when sevenoaks rc club were invited to put on a rc car display at a model airplane show.We raced allsorts of cars round a disused gokart track, including mini's,which i for one thought was a great laugh, and great racing.

Cheers simon

Evening All

Appologies for the website. The server is out of our hands - it's looked after by a former member who moved oop north - and it's apparently a bit sick! We've not been able to get on all week. I'll get some info on the server and the online booking software at the club race meeting this Tuesday  and post an update as soon as I have it.

Hi Simon

I had planned to do two classes but my car appear to be built the wrong way round.

My M-01 chassis is almost totally standard (inc CPR unit) and my M-03  is specced up.

So unless I can run my M-01 in  Mini Se7en  (hint hint rule makers!![;)]) I can only run in Miglia.[:'(]

Maybe I should start work on the TB/M hybrid I currently have in development for Silouette[:^)]

Gary

PS Hope you're doing Miglia Alan, as I remember the score is one all !!

Posted

Hi Gary

Trouble is, the M01 runs rings around the rest [;)] bring it anyway, I would'nt want to turn anyone away, so we may let you play with it. The Silouette class, I suspect, the least popular class, so you should run the hybrid.

Quick update. Servo is still FUBAR. It all went Pete Tong when it was relocated. Engineers are on the case. The new code for the online booking is nearly done, but useless without a server to host it [:$]

Another thought - we could have another class, perhaps running within an existing class, say Mini Minor, or Monte Carlo, for "Classic Mini's" like the M01, or the Kyosho FWD........
