The more i look at this thread the more i want to have a go, I would like to run my xray T1M in the silouette class but only if there are a few in that class, if there isn't that many i'd rather run in the seven or miglia class with my M 03. What are the numbers looking like for silouette?

Ah, absolutely no idea. The problems with the club's website server over the last few weeks, has knocked us back, so still no online booking, but it's coming, soon I hope.

Locally, I'm only aware of a couple of elligible cars, plus a few that I know are travelling. I only really expected 1, possibly 2 heats for Class 3. Plan to enter both. Easily do-able with 10 car heats and 6 or 7 marshal points. You should have plenty of time to prep each car.

When the online booking goes live, I will continuously update every one with entries.

Can I restrict the gearing on the M01 to ensure it is running on the same ratio as the M03 to enable to be fair in Class 1 or is it a lower centre of gravity issue? Maybe introduce ballast!! I don't see that running another class would really make a difference other than to confuse things, Rules seem great as they are, maybe just a little tweaking.[;)]

If anyone knows the answers to these questions let me know, if not I shall strip the M01 down and start counting teeth!!!!

Anyway if you run any more classes Simon will have to hire a van to bring all the cars he will need - LOL!

All the best

Any more news on when the entry forms / On-line booking will be available?

If you are having trouble hosting the On-line booking because of Server trouble, I could host it on my clubs Server.

Hi All

Quick update, I'll just copy our webmaster's e-mail in responce to the question.

Tim,

I'm getting there, slowly !  Seem to have been loads of other jobs

taking priority so progress has been slower than expected.

Realistically, I think we could say available from start of April, which

will still give us 6 weeks before the first event.

I'll send you some details soon as I need some testing from end users,

maybe you can give it a try ?

Regards

Andy

The plot thickens. I've just had a play with the booking in system, and realised that we are hosting it on our new website. Leighton Off Road Model Car Club are no more. We lost our off road track some time ago, and we are to change to a more appropriate Leighton Buzzard Model Car Club, with a new domain name, and also taking the oportunity to control our own server. The booking in system is hosted by the new website, and Andy (club webmaster) is writing all the pages. We will only have the rudimentary club info, results pages and online booking in facility, but you appreciate, this takes time and Andy is doing this as and when he can (he does have to earn a living) Please be patient, and it will be online in plenty of time.

Is there a link for booking in yet?

If not how about email forms posted back with payment. I understand that when people donate their time it can be difficult for them to fit everything in so maybe an alternative can be found to take the pressure off?

All the best

Hi All

Sorry about all the delays. The online booking facility is working, however the Paypal element is not. I have suggested (yesterday) we release the web address to get you booked in, and then I'll contact you all individually and request payment via Paypal seperately. Our webmaster has requested some time over the forthcoming bank holiday weekend in a last ditch atempt to iron out the bugs. Once again, I'm really sorry.

An open question to all competitors. Do you own a 1:1 Mini? We now have 2 members of staff from Mini magazine entering. They're very keen to link our little event with 1:1 Scale Mini's. A number of our local contingent intend to bring their cars, probably for a photo shoot, could you?

I own a 1:1 mini, but unfortunately it's in the process of being restored and i dont think it'll be ready any time soon, and my brothers 1:1 mini is hardly magazine quality, besides the fact he isn't coming [;)]

The online booking system is now working. Last night we ran some final test's, but there is still a problem at Paypal. We're promised a solution in a day or so. If that fails, we'll publish the web address and publish an email address for you to send a paypal payment manually. We'd rather get it working as it should though.

Sorry all, believe me, I'm as frustrated as everyone. It appears everything is working. The link will be posted (hopefully) later today. Just got to add some minor detail to the auto response confirmation.

OK, copy of an email just recieved:

"Tim,

Once I've had chance to update the site I can then remove the password and

we'll be sorted.

Will have to keep an eye on things for a few days, but we need to start

somewhere !

I'll drop you a line when I've sorted it, best bet will be to tell people

to check the lormcc website as I can put a notice up on there.

Regards

Andy"

Periodically check www.lormcc.co.uk for a link to the new website. I'll not publish the link to club members (unless they sneek in here) until those of you in here have booked in.

One small, still to resolve issue. When booking in for a second class, the system defaults to an additional £6 entry fee, not the £2 as advertised. Please book in, and pay via paypal to confirm entry, for 1 class, and then book only, without paying for additional class's. I will then send a manual Paypal invoice for the additional entry. Alternatively, book in and send a cheque, and we'll confirm the entry manually.

We have, for now, 27 places for Class 1, 27 for Class 2, and 9 for Class 3.

Online entries so far:

10 Class 1 (I have 2 manual entries to enter still. We will inform the local racers this Friday and next Tuesday of the online web address)

5 Class 2 (ditto above. 2 manual entries to upload, and we'll let em know)

1 Class 3 (Simon is looking good to be the champion here [:D])

In view of the high number of breakages recently suffered by a numerous entrants, who have subsequently fitted Alloy Uprights and or Alloy hubs, I propose to add some additional permitable Hop Up Parts to both the regular LBMCC series, and to Class 1 of the forthcoming Mini GP meeting.

Proposal 1

  • Alloy Front Hubs and Carriers – any manufacturer
  • Alloy Rear Hubs and Carriers – any manufacturer
  • Any servo saver
  • Chassis Mounted Transponder mount and Servo/Chassis brace (This is manufactured by both Tech Racing and I believe Square RC)

A number of you have been using a combination of all or some of these components for a number of weeks now, and I hope you’ll all agree that they have thus far offered no performance advantage whatsoever, supported by the fact that the top 5+ in the current and previous club championships chose not to use any of these hop ups.

I hope there’s no serious objection to the 1st Proposal.

Proposal 2

With this in mind, and having watched the performance of 2 - M03R chassis’s recently entered, I would like your views on permitting the R chassis into Class 1. Again, they’re no quicker than the stock kit.

Proposal 3

My personal view is to limit performance in the Class structure as follows:

Class 1 – Kit Silver Can 540 Motor, Kit Tyres and 1700mah (or under) Stick Packs

Class 2 – sport Tuned 540 Motor, any Tamiya Radial Tyre

Class 3 – as is, but include Brushless 13.5 Stock systems.

Please share your thoughts. I know it’s late in the day for these changes, but our experience shows that these will give no performance advantage, but will help ensure we all finish the races we start.

Hi Tim
I don't see any problem with these proposals, like you said this is more for durability not performance
