As some of you know myself and a couple of other TC members meet up at a local club on a tuesday night and compete in a M-03 race series. Great fun is had by all but it can get a little physical at times. We have gone some way to sort this by moving to two heats so there are less cars on track, but as the series is getting very popular we are almost back up to the same numbers again.

The upshot of this is that around 8 cars dont go into the first corner and some people get persuaded into a barrier or another car, this is all part of the fun and we dont take it to seriously. Anyhow the point of this rambling is that after four race meetings and alot of fun my shiny M-03M Suzuki looked a little battle worn.

A few reasons behind this, new driver skill (or lack there of, but getting better), poor preperation of the shell (didnt rough the shell up prior to painting so the paint flaked off) and the lack of a front foam bumper (now had an eagle racing one fitted). So when I spotted a body parts set for a reasonable price I thought i'd treat myself so the car looks presentable again, plus I enjoy painting.

Its not perfect by any means but i'm really happy with how it came out. My skills as a painter are improving I think and I have again learned by doing this one. The shell was properly prepped so the paint should be a little more resiliant to a 'few' knocks.

Comments good or bad welcome [:D]

Now looking forward to our Sunday GP that has being set up, a day of racing rather than just an evening!

I like the colour lines on the 2nd one - Looks like a lot of damage going on there - reminds me of tarmac rallying where its not the number of compedators but the lack of width for the track that gets you on the hairpins its very easy to crunch the front [:'(]

nice 2 colour painting on the suzuki. I know what you mean about roughing the inside of the shell first, makes the paint stay on much better, i use sandpaper now. I personally dont like the tamiya 'black out' windows thing, and now try to cut around the window decals to leave the black edging trim but have a clear 'window' part. Tricky to apply though, but clear windows look soooo much better.

Love the orange mini by the way, great mettalic colour there.
