one more thing :-)

there was a time where we could buy on ebay sealings for the tranny, whether in rubber or paperlike...

are they still available?

A couple of notes for your bearing install.

The 5X11 bronze bearings in the tranny will swap out nicely for regular 5X11 bearings.  the flanged 5X8's are a different size from the ones you can normally buy.  You will need to do some trial and error shiming of the gear shafts on those bearings.

the inner bearing on the front axle will require you to pop the pin out on the dog bone.  They come out fairly easy but be careful not to lose it.

thanks for the advice Shodog!

i've found a complete bearing kit at RC4WD, with flanged bearings for the gearbox...the price is quit reasonnable in fact

can't wait to get my hands on this beauty i bought from renken2000, just one problem though...promised my wife to let one of the others go :-(

forgot to mention i bought a bruiser inmeanwhile :-)...i'll let the hilux go maybe...

If you can keep it, you should.  Later you will regret selling it.

i have more questions regarding the bruiser i'll have soon...soon...soon...counting the days, hours and minutes :-)

is it possible:

-to have permanent 4X4 in all gears?

-to have 4X4 in reverse?

thanks guys, i really love this forum! it's 2 a.m and still surfing, just can't get enough :-)

You can make it have full time four wheel drive by swaping a spring inside the tranny to be in front of the shifting yoke instead of behind it.  The front hubs are a one way design because the truck has no differential.  Some people run rear hubs on the front which gets you 4 wheel drive in reverse but I wouldn't recomend it as the front axle is weak at the narrow of the dog bone and very expensive to replace.

Your the best Shodog! thanks for your advice, now i see why they sell reinforced axles...

all gears in 4 wheel drive is maby not necessary but reverse in 4x4 is important i think, i will be driving mostly in mud so the axles will hold on and my driving style is very slow as i like the scale effect...
