I'm about to start building a car trailer for my Sand Viper to sit on.  I'm going to use ali section for the frame, all bolted.  Anyone any tips/tricks etc on what wheels to use (hex or no-hex, though hexed gives me a wider choice) and best way to mount?  I want it to be a 4 wheel trailer.  I was thinking of a walking beam type arrangement (short bar, pivots in middle, wheel at each end), but looking around, it seems others have gone for the long axle across the frame approach.  One or two others seem to favour the Indispension type setup.  It would be nice to have some wheel travel as I intend towing the trailer behind an F350 (if I ever get one!)

I'm stumped at the mo' so any assistance would be great!

Lol i've got the same problem. I've got all the material ready to build a trailer for my highlift, but i'm stuck on wheels/axles/suspension.

I was thinking Subaru Brat front wheels all round would look sweet, but i'm waiting for the re realease as wheels will most probably flood the market then.

The reason the suspension has got me stuck is because i want the trailer to be as low down as possible, and to take the weight of a sand scorcher - or possibly even a clod or juggernaut with the wheels taken off (like how real monster trucks used to be transported) I've just got hold of some jugg leaf springs that might be up to the job, but i'm not sure.

I may just ditch the suspension all together in the hope that the tyres will soften the ride up enough. I'm not planning on going off road with a trailer hooked up so it would only be for road use.

Sorry i couldnt help - I'm stuck too! [;)
