Has there been a release of the lambo countach on the gt-01 chassis along with the porsche 934?

if not then i think there is definitely one on the cards.

on the tamiya eurocup website, the rules for the "TLMS" class say the you can use the GT-01 cahssis with sports car shells, and it mentions the countach. look here: http://www.tamiyaeurocup.co.uk/index.php?o...7&Itemid=52  near bottom under 'bodyshells'

If the tamtech you're refering to is 1/24 scale, then Yes, there was. I used to own 1.

Came in white with spoiler and windows already attached. Nifty little beast.

Used as in I lost it when I moved abroad... all i got left of it now is the stick transmitter.

Wasn't the Countach shell re-released a while back?  Was that

1:10, or 1:12..?  (sorry, not familiar with vintage tarmac stuff)

If

it's 1:12 then I don't see why it couldn't be done, and it's a good bet

Tamiya will release something on the GT-01 chassis...  Fingers

crossed [:D

Re-released shell is from same mold as original, which is 1/12th.

It should be nicely sized for the GT01 chassis.... but note the 934 Tamtech is *lexan* shell, not solid ABS. (ok ok, lexan with green ABS wing and detail bits). Not too hard to make a new out out of lexan I'd guess though.

Haven't yet held a built GT01 chassis yet (have only dug around in a fresh kitbox) but the pix suggest chassis is fairly bulky, there may be some clearance issues for putting a Countach shell on it - might not sit low enough at the tail and nose.

I've never seen a vintage Countach shell, but the GT01 chassis is

very compact.  The front-end uses lay-down shocks so I doubt

clearance at the front would be an issue, however the rear end is quite

tall with the gearbox and supports and stuff.

Would be worth a try if anyone's got an opened bodyset and a GT01 chassis [:D]

I think tamiya are going to release a lexan countach shell, similar to the 934 lexan shell for the gt01.  maybe theyll even bring out some other old 1/12 shells in lexan...

As noted on tamiyablog.com and correctly predicted by Rich_F, the Big T will be showing a GT01 Countach at its fair on 23 & 24 November '07, and I'm really pleased by this! I'm a fan of the 58005/58008 Countach but given how fragile (and expensive!) the hard bodies are I would never even think of running one. I'm guessing it'll be the short-wheelbase GT01 like the 934, rather than the longer GTO. I hope they model the Campagnolo alloy wheels properly, as it wouldn't look right without 'em.

It'll be great if they will follow Kyosho's lead and bring out more classic Lambo's like the Miura and Ferraris like the Boxer. These TamTech Gears are slowly becoming an addiction for me, with the only downside being that the TSU-02 servo is relatively expensive compared with the price of the kit (nearly 1/3).

After seeing Carbonman's Datsun 280Z body fitted to his GT01, they ought to release that as a complete kit also.
