I have found several occasions recently that i have wanted to solder/weld aluminum tube and plates together but dont know how. I remember seeing something in Radio Race Car international a couple of years back about a new product but cant remember anything more. I was looking through an American forum recently and there was something called JB Weld (i think it was) What is this, some sort of resin/glue? Is there anything like that availiable here in the UK or a soldering iron type thing with a special flux? Thanks.

"JB Weld" is a 2-part epoxy that etches to metals, it forms a very strong bond. It is invaluable for sticking say aluminium to steel, something that conventional welding will never do.

Works great for almost anywhere but I'd prefer not to use it for important structural pieces.
