Has anyone put a Monster Beetle body onto a Brat? I know the basic chassis is the same. I've got a spare new MB body and I am waiting for a re re Brat to arrive, I wondered how difficult it would be to do and what extra parts I will need[:S]. I don't want to turn it into a MB just mount the body on the standard Brat running gear (baja stylie[H]). Pictures would be good, thanks.

Well I was about to post almost the same question... I also have a M beetle shell that I want to turn into a baja bug. I just wonder what chassis to use... nothing vintage but a cheap solution for a cool runner woulf be nice.

Here is what I have in mind...

you need to fab up your own mounts, but neither of you guys are allowed to do it, I wanted to!!! ;) I had done this back in the 80's using MB posts in the rear custom up front.

I have a used MB and a re-brat both on the way due this week.

I guess you've seen this project http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=970, I think it's awesome and the reason I bought my MB shell but now I have a Brat on the way I thought that might be quite cool too.

Yeah! that's where I got the idea... I also saw one of scale4x4 made of a tl-01b

I love the look

Other than the brat, what else would fit under this shell? The wheel base seems to ve quite short!

I mounted a Scorcher body on my Lancia Rally back in the mid eighties.

I assume the Brat has the same front body mount as the Lancia. The rear body mount it easy, just use 2 little body posts instead of screws to attach the bits that keep the battery from sliding out, and drill holes to suit in the shell. Easy.
