I am hoping you guys can help me out a bit with an issue I am having on my TT-01. The car (or maybe it is the driver) has a tendancy to break front steering knuckles. Seems to happen if you tap the barriers during a turn. I guess it catches the tire and then breaks the knuckle. This get expensive as you have to keep buying the 'A' tree to replace them. I have to run the Tamiya parts for TCS rules so an aftermarket aluminum set is out of the question.

Is there anything that can be done (and yes I know, stop tapping the barriers)?

Is it a servo saver issue? Maybe to strong?

Thanks

John

Where are the knuckles breaking?

I have been breaking mine at the rear edge, along the mould line. I think it may have something to do with the adjustable steering arm screw. I now make sure I tap the hole carefully first and I don't use the nut underneath.

Mostly breaking at the top below where the  dowel goes into the arm.  I will take a closer look tonight to see if it is on the mould line.

Have you found that a different servo saver helps?  I wish they (Tamiya) would come out with a front aluminum knuckle.  They have them for most other models.

I run mine in a spec class too, I don't think you could fit a different servo saver anyway.

I don't think the saver is particularly tight anyway.

Perhaps you are overtightening the kingpin screws?
