Yes, what car do you all reckon will be the next re-re, if there is to be anymore??.

Which model would you "expect", and which model would you wish for? (Just in case the Tamiya-guys are looking also ;)

Personally, i would expect the apparantly ongoing ORV-framed cars-gearbox-modification" line to go on, and so, i would expect the next (again, if any) re-release to be either the Blackfoot or the Monster Beetle..

Imagine running a Monster Beetle without having to worry about cracking the bodyshell in a horrific crash, or grinding the diff or driveshafts..

Personally, i would LUUUUV, the old Shot-series to be reborn...  Imagine building a brandnew Hot- or Supershot... Wow...  (Even though they are not running that good, LOL)...

Let me hear your thoughts, please.  :)

Oh, and have a nice weekend also..[H]

Cheers.

Michael

I´ll guess Blackfoot!

As they allreaddy released the highlift (ford)...
Monster Beetle?.. njaaaa...

Badboy

But I would love any of ´em both!!!

I reckon it will be the monster beetle.

The pin spike tyres are still made for Blackfoot extreme, double blaze etc. Chassis is out there - blitzer shell is still made.... I think it's not a huge leap at all for them to produce a re-release of this now. More to the point - imagine if the poly carb second body as with the Brat becomes the norm for these re-releases!!! Would be fantastic to have a Tamiya quality lexan monster beetle/scorcher/blitzer shell!! [<:o)]

If it is the MB I swear I´ll buy at least two!!!

But what happen to the older ones?
Do they get more expesive?

My money is definitely on the Monster Beetle. As 3doorpete says it just wouldn't take much effort for them to re-re it at this point and as we all know it is/was hugely popular, I'd defo buy a couple too.

ps When is the next model fair when Tamiya usually announce these things? Is there one soon?

I would welcome either of those cars. I own a Blackfoot and could really use some replacement parts like body mounts and body shell, etc. I'm not willing to pay $30 on ebay

for just one body post or a sun roof. And I'll buy 2 Monster Beetles if it is re-released. I wanted one when I was a kid and still want one. MB still looks incredible.

I'll also vote for the Monster Beetle.

It's more or less already made, Tamiya just need to gather the parts and make new boxes[:P]

They could re release the Sand Scorcher on an ORV chassis........

[*-)]

One would cost a fortune I think! I would love one but as it used all of the metals which are now in short supply I don't think it would be feasible!  Although I would get a loan and would buy one if they did Re-Re it!

By ORV he means the Frog chassis, not the original SRB chassis - so that would be quite cheap.

They already 're-released' the Lancia 037 Rally, on the TA03! I don't think they'll reissue the ORV version.

I think that the Monster Beetle would be feasible for a re-release, since they must now have the rights to the beetle body again with the re-re M04 Beetle.

I would personally still like to see the Hot Shot and Fox re-released, but I think the likelihood is very low. You never know, they may surprise us all and re-release the 959. [:P]

I think a couple of rebodied GT01 kits are the most likely possiblity, I would love to see a Countach and Martini Porsche 935 on this chassis.

Oh right sorry for the mix up!

I know it is off topic but was I right in thinking that is why tamiya probably won't release the proper SRB?

Posted

Would also guess for a MB re-release.

Pin spikes are available, body rights seem also OK and I guess Tamiya would have use the re-re forg chassis.

Parts are available and MB is one of the most famous and successfull kit produced in this segment of market : would be a succes, no doubt !

I would get one for sure

By the way, one question still to be answered : when is the next model fair for Tamiya to anounce new models ? Somewhere in summer ? Here in France, LHS say there would be no more new models for the current year : could someone deny ?

Maybe not a proper SRB, but what if Tamiya compromised, as they did with the Hi-Lift, and produced a car very similar to an SRB, but with most metal parts replaced with plastic ones. I see a release like that perfectly feasible; producing a chassis that would become tremendously popular. Bring it on Mr. T!

I'm voting for a HotShot re-release (on my wishful thinking list). Of course I am probably daydreaming since the parts are only shared with a few other kits. Everyone is probably right about the Monster Beetle, but here's to hoping..

The Monster Beetle seems to be the most sought-after and respected

ORV monster, so I think it would be the most popular option to re-re at

this stage.  ISTR it was also the best-specced ORV, with oil

shocks where the Mud Blaster and Blackfoot series only ever had

friction shocks (can someone confirm this?)

However, with the

Brat having just been re-re'd, all the parts are there for a Mud

Blaster re-re.  A Monster Beetle-spec Blaster wouldn't be too far

off the mark either.

I doubt it would be a Blackfoot, as the

Blackfoot series is still current with the Extreme on the (IMO better)

Wild Dagger 2wd chassis variant.

I'd love a Monster Beetle re-re, but if a Mud Blaster was re-re'd with oillies, I'd be very tempted.

If we ever see another scorcher why do I get the feeling it will look like this [:S]

I'd buy a showrooms worth of Monster Beetle re releases but Tamiya are still short of many parts trees before they could re re the monster beetle.

Apart from the gearcase/gearbox odds and ends, rear suspension arms and A parts, the rest of the chassis is totally different.

If they did re re the MB, I expect the mud blaster to be first.

I agree the blackfoot would be an odd choice as the extreme is still being sold.

I think your LHB were probably talking out of their rear end. Tamiya usually announce new releases at the big hobby/toy fairs of which there are a few each year. This being Tamiya's 30th year anniversary I'm sure they've got a few more surprises up their sleeve. I think the next big fair is in June sometime but i may be wrong. Anyone else got any info?

I think the MB would be an easy and financially rewarding re re for Mr T............it's what the kids want man!

But i'm hoping as it's the 30th anniversary they are going to do something special and re re the og SS with a full metal chassis but including a second lexan shell and a revised diffed box with better shafts. oh and some factory alloys and a chrome edition.

Don't want much do i [:D]
