HI!

Ive got two bugies and a monster truck on the way. Was thinking about getting a nice rally car...not sure what to get at all though. I live near a heavily wooded area so must be able to handle a bit of off roading...as well as being able to go on the street...also can be vintage or modern as well....any thoughts very welcome!

thanks!

Most of the current crop of rally cars are suited to tarmac more than off road,I would have thought small gravel/dirt areas would be okay to run on but not anything too extreme.

The current rally cars are all very pretty on a shelf, but are no good off road or even on gravel. After the first run the body would be very tatty and the chassis scored. The VW race Towrag is kind of a rally car and can handle a BIT of rough stuff.

Vintage....the Lancia Rally!! It handles well on tarmac and as it's basically a buggy (Frog) it can also handle the rough stuff. It's a very strong chassis.

You might also consider getting a rally car body for one of your buggies. You can make the mounts using bit of ingenuity and some plastic tubing.

HPI make this shell http://www.hpieurope.com/graphics/parts/7552.jpg, which is bigger than a standard saloon car body. They also do an impereza in the same 'super scale' size.]

I see that you have a Frog...thats halfway there to a Lancia Rally!

All you need now is the body/decal set, front bumper assembly, body mounts and the wheels/tryes [:P]

If you still think about an up-to-date rally car, check out the HPI RS4 Rally (not Sprint Rally) and the Yokomo MR4 Rally. The suspension systems are different to their tarmac counterparts and they can handle light off road tracks better than the TB01.
