Why I don't like youtube, dailymotion and others

Since I've been on TC, , the things I like the most here are the videos. We often have great shooting, cool music, nice models and good drivers, everything that make some videos you would like to keep.

So For maybe 95% of the video I watch on TC, I have a space on my HD where I keep them, just to watch them again and again.

Why 95% ? because of youtube. I did not find an simple and easy way to convert the youtube movies into a wmv files, so I can't keep them.

Am I the only one? Does anyone know a way to convert the youtube -> wmv

I use Video Downloader to grab them, Its an extension to Firefox, a simple 2 click process.

 Then re-encode em with Super. A free, fully featured and powerful as all badword encoder.

I can understand the frustration, I like to download the movie and watch rather than streaming them.

When I do a vid I prefer to upload to TC but until recently the movie section was out of commision due to matters out of Netsmiths control.  So the only option that allowed posting of vids was youtube etc. Now TC is back Im certainly going to start using it again, unless like one of my last vids it is over the 15mb limit.

My gripe with youtube is the number of negative ad antagonistic comments you can get!- no fair!
