ordered my hi-lift along with some futaba 4ex-fm 4ch radio, ballraces, hitec hs-645mg servo. now i was looking at a mc230cr or mc330cr futaba esc, trying to find out current flow on these esc, i was woundering if any of the esc's i already have would be up to the job, i have a teu-101bk im told this is no good, nosram hawk power reverse 15t (rated current 75amps), Bravo moped v16r 10-36t limit esc (no idea of current rating). or would i be better off buying a new one, waterproof would be good.

Motor, how does the standard 540 motor hold out, has it enough torque or should i purchase another type if so which would you recommend.

Im also wanting to do something with my touareg so may use same combo for that to improve off road driving.

any advice would be helpful

the BEC on that ESC is weak, only 1 amp so you may run into issues with it stalling.

A tekin rebel 2 has 6 amp BEC so it handles shifting and steering just fine under loads

I like to use a 35 turn lathe motor, better low end grunt and easier to drive slow over things, yet can still get wheelspeed in 3rd gear

is a lathe motor the same size as a 540 or would i have to modify both the hilift and touareg to make it fit, dont know much about this kind of thing, so help from fellow tc members is a great help, i have found a 35t lathe motor on ebay so just need to check before ordering it, just to check bec power is important aswell as  current rating.

I use the MC230CR in my Mounty and I have never had any kind of "stall" from power loss to the servos yet . Either one should be fine for the High Lift .

I use a 55turn Integy Lathe motor in my HL, it's a little slow, unles you use all the gears when scale driving. I've had no problems so far.
