Hi guys,

Heres my newly completed re release Subaru Brat . i didn't go the box art, instead I went metallic blue & also has the chassis, front bull bar, roll bar & wheels chrome plated. I kept the stickers to a minimum as well. When I get some radio gear in it I'll have some action shots for u this weekend

Let me know what u think.

Jak

I hope Tamiya keep re releasing classics!

Wow!  That looks fantastic!  Really makes me want to go get one now...

I take it that's not a chrome release, you had someone do the

chrome plating?  Where did you take it for that, and how much did

it cost?

Jak,

Nice Suby. Nice plating too (from Gary in Melbourne, ha?) - especially those wheels. Feeling challenged to paint the Subaru side badge? Did you use PS paint to do the tyre lettering? I hope so as I recently used a Pental paint pen on my Grasshopper tyres. The result was very accurate, but the paint turns to a powder and when the tyre is greatly deformed, the paint cracks off.

That is one sweet Subaru!

That's possibly the nicest one i've seen yet, and how often do you see a Subaru in BLUE [:o]

Wow! I'm glad I bought mine now! I was actually thinking of selling it on but not after seeing that. Really pleased I got one of the chrome editions now!

Yeh , Gary is the Man! He did such a good job on this one he even called me to tell me when he had done it. It's definantly his best effort yet, there is not one blemish anywhere on the chroming.

I use a white unibal ball point pen from the local newsagent for all my tyres lettering, I've got it on all my runners & it doesnt' crack & come off like others. Best of all it was only $3 plus it comes in silver & gold as well.

I forgot to do the side badge, my trick is to put Tamiya tape around the badge then use wet & dry sand paper to take the paint off the raised lettering. Thats what I did for the badges on the rear tailgate, works a treat!

thanks for the comments, I thought I had a made a big mistake at first when I painted it & almost rubbed it back to paint it box art, but when I put it in the sunlight with all the chrome bits on I was quite happy with it.

I saw the pics yesterday, but didn't reply yet. But I've to say that it looks really amazing.

And is Gary the guy from www.chrometechusa.com ? I'm considering to let him do some parts for me. And if this is his work, I'm defnately going to let him do the parts.

Big Thanks to Bill for sorting out my pics, can't believe the vw guys kept deleting my pics, especially since I have a Subaru motor in my vw anyway LOL.
