hi there has anyone got a e savage by hpi, liked the twin motor/twin battery idea and vids lokk great was just woundering about run times and weather there any good, mainly buy tamiya but liked the look of this one for bashing about.

I don't have one bat have seen one running at one of the Kent Bashes. Their drive train is really quiet, they are very fast and look to handle well as well. Bit of lean, but they don't roll too easily. Not sure about run times, but as there are 2 batteries this is like have 1 motor, 1 battery and halving the weight of the model from a run-time perspective - so probably quite good.

I had a good look at the inside as well and they look very well engineered, with all the electrics in a water proof box as well. I was impressed.

The E-Savage is a rebadged version of the Hot Bodies E-Zilla 10. My E-Zilla's runtime with the supplied batteries was very short, but they now provide some 3300s with the car, which should give you more runtime. I use a pair of Sanyo 3600 cells, and get about 10 mins of sensible running, a little bit less if I'm putting the truck through badword!

I've had this car 2 years now, and it's still nice and quiet, performs almost as well as a nitro but without the mess, and has stood up to all the punishment and abuse I give it. It's just come back from Kidderminster, where I managed to snap a driveshaft, a breeze to replace though, took me 5 minutes and the job was done.

I've run the car in the wet, cold, hot and dusty conditions and it's always come back for more. It's a bit of a handful to control over jumps, but will quite happily do a multiple roll on landing and then just carry on going. Someone at Kidderminster described it well, they said it was like a mad puppy dog!
