I was wondering where most of you run your cars?Personally,I don't drive anywhere really special-just up and down the street and occasionally on local lanes!Any special places or your personal favourite spots?!What inspired me to writre this was seeing a bruiser tackling all types of terrain in different gears!

Myself and a couple of the guys here in Glasgow drive our trucks up the side of a coal bing. (big pile of waste material and unsalvageable coal from an old mine) We aren't into that slow persuit known as 'rock crawling' but more 'hill blitzing'. The landscape in the photos I have in my showroom makes it look like Iceland as the ground is very black and volcanic in appearance. I must say we have real trouble finding places to run our cars without being moved on or disturbing others. Nitro cars are not popular on the local golf course!!

Hello Shenuk

Sunday mornings at the reebok stadium is popular with a few people up here. The car parks are only used on matchdays so nobody minds us using it.

I run mine at school, because there is almost three acres of land set aside for 'future development'... because I inhabit leafy, green, surrey, this land is filled with trees, bushes, small hills etc, and also some old concrete bombshelters from WW2, in short it's perfect for offroading.

i usually run r/c s in my yard,i live on 1 acre of property, and i live in the sticks so i have pavemnt, gravel, dirt, mud, fallen tees, big rocks for climbing and we have a bmx track near by so

Here in Tokyo there is very few places to race. I take some of my cars for a spin in the garden on weekends and if I get up early enough I can race at a large playground near my house.

yes i heard about that place but i was told they race Nitro cars there and not electric

also it's a bit far out from where i live the traford center is about 10 minutes away from where i live and i have been told others race on there as well

as for cars i only stick to the Electric cars as i can't be doing with messing about with tuning a glow fuel / nitro engine

cheers

I usually raced my King BF at a grassy little soccer field, with wasn't very grassy because of all the kids sliding and playing soccer... [;)] Basicly, after it rained, the surface was super-smooth, very hard packed sand under 0 angle which was perfect for running basicly all my cars and the hovercraft.

But now they wrecked it all up al made it with tiles, so my KBF doesn't get any running there anymore... [:(] They also made it under a angle (crossed eyed people...) so my hovercraft slides to one side all the time... It's fairly good for running my Mini on, but they layed out sand all over the place!!! Big mess after running. [xx(] I hear it is supposed to prevent sliding, but basicly it makes it only WORSE...

Also I have the problem of very annoying little kids wanting to play soccre all the time. They are damned rude and they think they are so smart... All they can get from me is a kick in their a$$, what a little *******s they are. They just run to the field when I am running my car, acting very annoying and irritating - not wanting to play soccer really, but just to annoy me... They are such a bunch of $*)#(%^@!... [:(] [:(!]

Now my cars don't get a lot of running anymore for above 2 reasons... [v] [v] Especially the off-roaders I liked SOO much to run are doomed to sit around - they wanna play! [:(]

Supershot:- whereabouts are you, btw?

Last remaining offroad tracks are at Carrington Park Knox & Keilor, onroad gas cars run at Stud Rd Dandenong. Electric tourers can go to Porter St Templestowe.

Tamiya offroaders can run anywhere, ovalblocks work as well on tarmac as well as on dirt. You can mount sponge donuts onto 2" wheels too, if you want the extra traction.

Bruiser/Mountys can even be run in Church. [;)]

*Video* currently in post-production, matey. [:)] And yeah, knowing our scheduling it'll be about 2009 before anything comes out the other end. [:(]

Hmm... now that you mention it, we didn't get an xmas card from the Rev this year... Funny that. [:o)]

Hopefully "maybe" [:)]. Have committed to gearing up home's PC to DV specs... and have a shot at processing video myself. Currently shopping around for some bigger HDDs (thinking of a Firewire RAID of 80GBs to total to 200-300G).

To slip back on topic...

The guys at work and I (we run in our lunch times mostly) use a tarmac 'parade' ground, which has a fine layer of very small gravel (1 or 2 mm in size) scattered over it, it makes for a bit of fun but is tough on the plastics. There's also a couple of dirt access roads and stuff we run on (well they do with their off-roaders)

We're lucky in that it's a huge area (it also has 4 full size basket ball courts painted on it, with adequate space between these... it's HUGE! while still being out of the way of the public eye so our bosses don't mind.
