Excuse the play on words, it has to be done when you own a Wild Willy 2. Many thanks to Renco5012 for this one. All I want to know is, how do I get longer wheelie time from WW2? Is there a record that needs to be broken?[8D] Is there something that I could put in/on the rear end to balance it out a-bit more. Does changing the pinion work?

I thought about extending the wheelie bar/wheel out another 5mm or so, not too sure if that'll work.

I suppose the answer is going to be "you could always put a faster motor in it"[:I]

Any advice or tips would be much appreciated.

Cheers'

If you take a look at Netsmith's showroom, he has done a wheelie bar (for a WW1 I think) with aircraft wheels on it. The WW2 should be able to wheelie forever if it has a short bar with wheels on it, lengthening the bar too much might make it less easy to keep the front of the car in the air.. You could always make a new bar with aircraft wheels and a lead strip counterbalance (get sticky lead from R/C car shops or tyre shops).

Faster motor could help, more torquey motor would be better though (like a P2K2 rather than a Monster for example).

Erm, isn't the ultimate limiting factor the amount of straight tarmac you have available[?] I don't recall a wheelying Willy being too great at corners...[;)][;)]

id="quote">id="quote">LOL [:P]. I don't know if it would even stay up in a straight line, it's that unstable [:D]

Have to be honest and say i dont know if its just mine that does it (due to being widened) but it tends to waddle when wheelying (i.e bounces from one wheel to other) and will then fall over.

To increase time on rear wheels i would say some weight added to wheely ar would help.

A fast modified motor makes my pumpkin wheelie on command. even when under way, I stab the throttle and the front wheels will come right off the ground.

I have yet to build my WW2 yet so I really couldn't say. I intend to throw a nice 15 turn mod motor in it also.

On the other hand I think it's almost impossible to keep the front wheels on the ground with a WW1

Cheers fellow members. I'm going to try a Sport Tuned motor first, maybe change the pinion to the 18 tooth. I've also got a Rev tech motor, might try that one later. Much later.[;)] Thanks for all your tips, I'll give them all a go. Except the excersizing of the muscle, I'll leave that up to the wife. lol[8D]

It already comes with an 18 tooth pinion and in my opinion a 15 turn is too much, I have a 27 turn modified in 2 of my willys and they can wheelie forever.

How long it can wheelie, I think, depends on how smoothly the front wheels go up, the smoother it is, the longer it will wheelie.

Just my 2 cents

Yeah I know, but it's got the 20 tooth in it at the moment. I just had a look in my bits box, but I have no 20 tooth that are the same pitch as the 18. Off to the local Hobby shop tomorrow.

What is a 27 turn??

Hey Del,

Using a Sport Tuned will make it even more unstable - I should know cos I had a ST in it for a couple of months! It wheelied better with the 18 tooth pinion I think. It's been a while now [8)]

Cheers friends. It'll be a while b4 WW2 is up and doing wild wheelies again. Just sold one of my (wanna-be Sand Scorchers), so now I've only got one set of Radio Gear and that's staying in my Wild One. I've been adviced by my Financial Advisor (Wife) that I should be getting a few other things sorted first.

But you will all be the first to know when WW2 is up and running again.

I'm in the process of building a rollbar for my WW. Not sure if it will be effective yet.

id="quote">id="quote">Using a damper on the rollbar looks a good idea, should make it a lot easier to keep the car nose up over bumpy ground. I look forward to hearing how well it works [^]
