Anyone know where I can mail order genuine Tamiya lexan paints from in the UK. My usual sources only do Pactra, Humbrol and other third party stuff, but I need the real deal, especially for my 959...

Thanks in advance,

Roop

I can't get these paints for love-nor money - everybody is out of stock - any more ideas...? I'm after the following :

I don't have problems over here in Belgium. I'm sure I have seen black and I would be 99% that I can get the others too.

They sell here for 6.90 euro or there abouts.

If you guys want some then I can send it over if you like. Obviously shipping will cost a little so it probably only worth doing if your desperate or if you buy a few tins at a time.

I have a UK bank account so payment is easy.

Modelsport have all of these colours in stock. I have ordered loads of stuff from them and they are always well packed and on time. If you order before 2:00pm you should recieve it the following day

It used to be in their catalogues. Maybe only in the model one, not the RC catalogue.

Not sure if they still have it in there because I only have the 2002 RC version.

The lexan paint charts would be nice.

You can e-mail it to me direct if you want but I'm sure it would be useful to everybody.

tamiyausa.com states that PC-12 silver is discontinued. This is the color that i need for my Super Shot restoration, as the lexan body is painted with it [:'(] I am a bit scared because i couldnt find one for sale even at ebay atm!!

To make things worse, nobody imports tamiya paints to Finland anymore...i have even called all the local dealers here but nobody has any stock left. Does anybody know dealers who would ship tamiya paints to Finland?

What other options there are, does Humbrol produce paints for polycarbonate?

Most PC (bottles) are discontinued, but especially for metallic paints you should use the PS (spray cans) which came later and are the same tone, so just get some PS-12 and be very happy you didnt found PC-12 and ruin that rare body with brushed metallic paint! [H]

Cheers

OK this spray can thing sounds cool, as i was not happily looking forward to brushing it either [:D]

I'm off to ebay then, unless someone can point me to a retailer willing to ship international?

I've always been able to get Tamiya paints from FusionHobbies, plus you get your TC discount. They ordered in colours that they didn't have. Modelsport have been good too.

I think I am right in saying though that Tamiya produces or ships their paint in batches, so there can be a long delay if they underestimate demand for a colour and stocks run out. I remember talking to a Tamiya rep in a model store a year or two ago and I think he mentioned something weird like the paint supplies were not shipped out all year round to avoid problems with bulk shipments being damaged by extremely cold temps....? Could be complete BS, but I guess if you have to ship the paint in temp controlled environment it would push the shipping costs up a lot, whereas during warmer times of year you could probably ship as is.

I think freezing frost is the big killer for paints isn't it?

Wow!

I thought I had a hard time finding Tamiya paint, as it seems I have it easy. I have to drive 12 miles.

The color charts can be found here on the USA web site http://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/feature.php?article-id=72

And my LHS has a few cans of PC 12 in stock. If you need me to I can pick it up and ship it to you. If sending a can of paint under pressure is legal from the USA I'll do it.

Hey thanks a lot for offering your helping hand there mate [:)] I have "one last chance" scheme here first though, as i tracked down the number to the tamiya importer in Finland. So i am calling there tomorrow to find out if they would have ANY left.. crossing my fingers [:#]
