I have a pair of skateboard ramps that I see in a lot of the movies on here, except I don't want them anymore - is it classed as RC, can I advertise it them on here or not.  I don't want to post them then upset anyone.

(they have an RC car on the box!!)

Good question and thanks for asking (although by posting you've already advertised them [;)]  - General note to all: private emails to one of the admins is a better way to go if you are not sure)

Its one of those boarder line cases but in this case I'd say it was ok. They are a common bit of kit amongst off roaders. The key points would be they must not just be listed as 'Skateboard Ramps' as people reading that will get the wrong idea about what is ok and what is not and we'll probably see a rash of skateboard related bits. The description must also stress they are for use as RC ramps, if you can post a picture of one in action or even the picture off the box thats would be great.

General note to all: this does not mean just because you might include the line 'I use it in RC' is enough in itself to justify listing it here ( "Great Ipod - I use it while I'm driving my RC" or "Nice folding chairs - I always sit on them while drivng my RC) etc would not be ok. It just about using common sense. Its a very popular area of the site with a lot of trading being done through it, and the reason it does work is that it is specific. If its allowed to become a generic forum for trading anything, then it actually becomes less use for those people looking through it for hobby related items.

Before anyone complains about items they may have had removed, they will have been removed because the title and description did not do anything I've listed above, ie give any connection to the hobby. So we treat them on face value. If you have any doubts then a simple email before posting sorts it all out.

Cheers

Cheers Chris

Apologies about posting it, at least it gets people reading the rules again [;)]

Now then, folding chairs - I could do with some of them!
