It should already be free. Take the motor out and chassis should roll a long way with only a slight shove.

Don't grease the gears too much.

Flush the bearings and relube with light oil.

Universal axles.

I flush bearings out using Benzene. Let them soak in a glass bottle of benzene for a few minutes, then take them out and spin them on a screw driver. The benzene inside will "chew up" any grease and dirt. Then let the bearings dry, and then use a light oil to oil them (I use Prolong general purpose spray). Another idea to losen up the drive-chain is to get the aluminium clamp on hexes, so you can tighten the wheel-nut properly without pushing the hex onto the upright.
