Thats so cool it just cant be explained with any word I know. This is the knind of stuff I want to get into once I have finished my mechanical enginiering course and learnt to weld properly. That has got to be the coolest classic car garage on the face of the earth. The only way it could be better is if it had a mk1 mini cooper in it. I can only hope that one day I will have thoose kind of fabrictory skills (I think I just made a new word).

Wow! That is a brilliant picture show! Thanks for sharing it here! I must say that I saw what it was at once:-) Look at all those instruments, I am born to darn late!!!

amazing indeed!

definitely the surefire way to own a factory-fresh classic rally car that's not just a "replica"... love how they go out of the way to preserve the genuine/original floorpan by backing it onto another better shell.

Also amazing how these skills are still available today, albeit in the Middle East (UAE?). Sadly in the west & downunder, this type of trade skill is dying out as they don't teach them to young apprentices anymore.

Similarly amazing would be the resto cost... ah well, petro-dinars to the rescue!

Love the procession of fine machinery thru the garage too! not too sure I'd want to be grinding/welding so close to such nice shiny paintwork, but I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Guessing the Celica is destined for a museum career... no need to build it to "concours" standard for classic rallying.

Truly stunning workmanship. According to the website MAT are based in Finland? It is a shame to think that these types of skills are all but dying out in the UK. I am sure there are some specialist restorers who have subsets of the skills shown in those photos.... but to find one place with them all like that would be rare.

What a fantastic workshop too, and so spotlessly clean [:)]

My God that was some build! These guys obviously know their stuff, judging by the meticulous attention to detail, and the craftsmanship is amazing! It's a shame that this car will never compete again, but after spending what I can only imagine must be hundreds of thousands of Euros, I'd be wary of running such a fine example of rallying history.
