Well, leave it to Traxxas to cash in on the newest technology (and yes I'm aware that Losi offers a RTR Brushless Truck but it doesn't count ;) ) and kick start the RTR world yet again.

Looks like this may be leading up to the release of a brushless Revo or E-Maxx perhaps ? Also the system is going to be available separatelty & the RTR's come with some upgrades too. Now, hopefully this will kick start some other manufacturers into the Brushless RTR mode (Tamiya get on it please):

Included items:

Powerful Digital High-Torque Steering Servo

Precision metal turnbuckle links with heavy-duty rod ends

Steel gears in the transmission

Full rubber sealed 5x11 ball bearings at the wheels

Enhanced driveline strength

Beautiful new graphics and sinister black-chrome wheels

High quality metric hex hardware

Tamiya making the drivetrain strong enough for current brushless systems would be a good start. :X

I've gone through 3 gearboxes and a diff in only a few runs, starting to get expensive on replacement parts, and there's nothing stronger on offer.

I'm toying with nitro gearing in Tamiya cars atm to try and get the strength needed in the older chassis cars. I have a 2nd DI coming, and will see how it holds up to brushless after fitting a slipper clutch.

Brushless certainly has it's advantages, run times are longer, motors are generally sealed, more power from the motor using the same battery pack, and with the good systems, programmable ESC's.

Personally I can't wait til Tamiya catches up with technology.
