I am still on the look out for a thorp diff for my falcon. I have every other crp & thorp part now but the diff. I do not know if they even did one for the falcon or if I would have to mod a different one. If you have any info please let me know or if you know if they even did one. I have emailed JR -RC a few times now (jason) and gixerjay but have not received a reply so I presume they dont have one either. :o P.S paypal at the ready :o

Thanks in advance

I never heard about a ball diff for the Falcon. Are you sure about this?

Hi Kontemax

No I'am not sure thats what I am asking, if anyone has heard of them doing one or if anyone had any experience of someone modifying for example a fox thorp diff etc ? I do know that they have produced most parts for the falcon because I have nearly if not all of them just not a diff. They also did a complete dogbone and drivecup replacement for it

of which I have several sets, so it's not outside the realms of possibility they did a diff to complete the job. I do know they did a complete listing of parts in a book as I have seen them on ebay for sale, I was hoping that someone may have that guidebook on T.C. as reference.

Thanks

RCVOLTAR@AOL.com knows Thorp and got most of the remaining inventory when Thorp shut down, if anyone will know it is Jim. I have never seen or heard of anything Thorp for the Falcon, but that means very little, drop Jim a line he is a good egg and answers his mail, B

Hahahaha......I have also emailed JR-RC many times, through ebay and other methods, and also asked questions when buying parts but I have never received a single word of reply from him. So I stopped buying from his store, it's his loss. B)

I don't understand when people don't reply when you are trying desperately to give them your money...

Sorry I can't help with the Thorp/Falcon problem

Thanks mate thats really helpful. :P

Robotnik - I know what you mean, and its not a 5 deal a thorp diff you would think its worth the effort to reply. I have bought an awful lot of thorp and CRP from JR-RC because he is the only guy with the really rare stuff. I would hope it his junk filters rather than ignorance to blame for his unwillingness to reply. B)

Thanks S.B.Junkie

Jim replied very quickly to my email and put my torment to an end B) There was never one produced ! oh well I can begin the final build of my super falcon now in the knowledge there are no more mods ! Thanks to Jim Sourbeck for going to the trouble of digging out the info for me too . I am sure Jason has a reason for not aways replying as his service is always very good in terms of goods etc and postage from HK is very quick. Then again so is Jims :P

Yes I should add that JR-RC is an excellent shop, great products and fast shipping, I have never had any problems with their service. It was only an issue with not being able to contact a person there.

Jason is too busy cruising in Tokyo in the Ferrari he bought with the outrageous shipping fees he charges to his buyers... Never answered any of my emails either. Such a shame that a tamiya specialist like him shows such poor customer service orientation.

Jim/rcvoltar is the quintessential good Tamiya buff - I can only say good things about him and how often he's helped me and sold great stuff in the past. :D

Since the falcon tranny is basically the same as the Blizter tranny, isn't there a way to fit stock tamiya parts on here to convert it to metal dogbones? Has anyone done this??

Hi Tim

Common misconception. The falcon and blitzer/bearhawk are totally different apart from the chassy tub itself. Non of the parts except the tub are interchangable.

Correct the only way to mix and match Falcon/Bear Hawk is to use a complete front or backend. I have a Complete Bear Hawk rear end ready to go on my Falcon. I would like to keep the Falcon rear end but thats not going to be possible at this stage so I will end up with a Falcon Hawk or Thundercougarfalconbird .

I have given up on finding the dirt burner steel drive shaft set for my Falcon.

For reference I found the part number on the RC Chop Shop web site 4572 - Thorp MFG Dirt Burners Complete Dog Bone and Axle Kit (Includes 4585, 4570 and 4571) for Falcon or FX-10 .

Some Tamiya Falcon Part Numbers I have collected along the way:
