It's been a while since I posted here but I am looking to thin out my collection of toys (mainly to make room for others...), and am trying to get an idea of what to sell some kits for.

One kit is the Tamiya TB-01 Ford Focus kit that has a few runs on it. Also has a Futaba S3003 servo, Tamiya Am radio( controller and receiver), Tamiya esc, tamiya black can motor, and 2 3300 stick packs. Also comes with a factory painted Subaru body since the Focus is a little rough.

The second is a Tamiya TB-01 Lancer VII kit with about 2 runs on it and all the same stuff except a new unpainted, unused body.

I haven't used these kits in a while and am thinking about getting rid of them to make room for some other things that I want for more sentimental value, and you can't keep everything sadly. Any info people can give me on a price would be appreciated.

Is no one able to help me out on this??? I tried ebay but the only one I saw was a new built Ford Focus which doesn't really help me out. If your idea on a value for these kits is more of an offer....thats good too!!!!

i've been out of it for a long while too but WRCaction got me back in on the forums....

i'd be willing to bet you could get between $50 and $150 for each.......just got to find the right buyer......

why not offer it to the rally nuts from all those czechoslovakia?

these guys are HUGE rally fanatics....

I think the problem is that the TB-01 is a tricky car to value. I don't think it is particularly popular, but if it was complete, ie with a decent shell, cockpit, foam parts, etc. I think it would be worth at least 50. With the other bits you are including, I reckon up to about 80?

i know this is a little off topic but how cool is that scale rally track. top work

back on topic i know i paid about 80 uk quids about a year ago for a tb01 complete with charger and radio gear. so they aint that expensive, but **** good cars all the same

thats my 2p

I do think it depends a lot on the buyer as well as how u present it and the state that the car is in.

Hot ups such as the LA set can add to the value consideribly. I would reckon around 60/70 for the focus and about 60 for the lancer as both of them are still in a close to stock condition.

but thats dependant on a buyer that knows about the TB01, as those on ebay will not see a great deal of difference between it and the latest TT01 impreza which we all know is an inferior car to the TB01.

Have to agree with the others - its really a case of being lucky with the right buyer who is after a good example.

About a year ago I sold my Lancer VI which had literally only been run a few times. I sold it with a sport tuned motor, full bearings, LA kit, box manual and I had fitted the shell with a full lighting rig (its still in my showroom if you want to get an idea of condition. It sold on ebay for about 120 GBP + shipping I think - it was a well finished car in as new condition with a lot of hopups though, so I would say it was towards the top end of the price range for TB-01s.

Personally I was a bit disappointed with the steering setup in stock form (quite a lot of play imho), although the dust cover and driver insert were nice details. They do weigh a lot though!!!!

I think if you want to get top dollar for it stick it on ebay - sad but true. Most TC-ers are after a bargain so i think you will find it hard to get top dollar selling it via the TC site. A lot of people on ebay won't know it from a TT-01, but a fair few will and it will get much higher exposure and the chance of finding the "right" buyer on ebay than anywhere else. Don't skimp on the pictures though - lots of them and good quality too, plus be honest about condition.

Good luck with the sale.

Thanks for all the input guys! Yeah I am sure luck will have a lot to do with it, and since there are not any TB-01s on ebay, it might be easier right now.

If I could get $100 each, I would be happy. I don't have the room for them anymore, and haven't used them in almost a year now. If I had some place like in that like thesuper posted, I might want to keep them for sure!

If anyone is looking for a TB-01...let me know!!!!
