How much is a NIB AYK Sidewinder worth these days?

I saw a used one went for under $200 on eBay. Wonder what's a NIB worth if anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

Thanks!

I was quite surprised that one went for that much - I think it was because it was complete. To be honest, I don't think the AYK market is very big, so I don't think the prices are mad, like vintage Tamiya's (which loads of people want).

If you haven't found it yet, check out InetRC's showroom: http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom.asp?id=5861

...probably the best person to give you a value.

Nice car the Sidewinder - I could do with a shell for mine though...

Thanks for the info!

There was one car (besides the Tamiya Frog) that I really wanted when I was a teenager. Couldn't remember what it was until recently I saw a picture of the AYK Sidewinder, then I knew that must be it! The version with the piped frame body is very rare I think.

Hey! I remember narrowing down my choices to those two cars when I purchased my first rc car. I went with the frog. I loved the shock setup on the front with the sidewinder. The reason I picked the frog was because I got a better deal. It was super hard convincing my parents to buy me an expensive "toy" like those when I was a kid. :D

I envy you still, because I had neither the Frog nor the Sidewinder. :(

R/C was expensive that I didn't even dare to ask my parents for it. The other kids had at least a Grasshopper. All I could do was stare at their nice toys.

90% of the cars at the track were Frogs, as I recall. The Sidewinder was a more advanced car, and the one guy who drove it was beating all the Frogs.

I figured if I could only dream, why not dream for the best car!

Oh, well, all the memories....

I finally got my first Frog 20 years later.
