I just received a Blade CX2 as a gift from my uncle and I've been thinking of making mine brushless. I know that the heli has all the electronics (ESCs, Radio...) built into 1 unit and changing that would be expensive so I was wondering if the ESCs could already handle brushless and if not, are there any faster motors out there that I could strap on using standard electronics? If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

George

I guess you have to ask yourself whether it's worth it or not. I would imagine you would have to change out all the electronics. I don't think I would do it because the CX2 isn't a collective pitch and stock it has enough power it get it to the top of the 3 story ceiling in the shop at work.

Absolutely not worth it at all.

The standard set up is more than powerful enough. Besides having to get a complete new radio set up including gyro, receiver, speedo's you wont have the performance increase to offset the high cost of doing the mods.

Trust me - you are better off flying the death out of it in standard form, learning all you can, and then buying a TT Mini Titan. (or any collective pitch heli). Teh CX2 is really for teaching new pilots about how a heli behaves and orientation.....and of course they are alot of fun to fly around the house too ! But that is really about all they can do.

I love mine to death - bit they really are a stepping stone and not worth throwing too much money at.

Cheers
