KACHOOOWWWW.......

Jeez mate - loose the pic of you will you!! You are pretty and all that - but the cars are the focus here!! LOLOL B)

Would be good to get some more Sydney meetings going - and some along the coast too as it is very hard to get together as we are such a large country.

Might move this to the meetings page soon - as it should really be there.

Cheers

I'll be in, if it's not too far, and it's on the right day and I am not attending a lecture/working/going to bathurst/ going to a birthday... etc...

there is a bunch of us up here in Brisbane that race Minis on Mondays... hey, that sounds cool... at least two of us would be in for a vintage meet, with our SRBs and such...

Anthony in Brisbane... soon in Hervey Bay for UNI though...

I'm a Sydneysider, still bummed about missing the Ryde meet. I am mad keen!

I can presently probably make a meet if it's on a Saturday, Sundays are out for me at the mo.

That sounds great. My mate works nearby the Ryde track so he'll be up for a drive as well.

This really is sounding like a plan! Hopefully Darryn (retro r/c) might come up from the ACT also,we've been talking about running our vintage old girls at the St Ives track too.Now that would be a blast! By the way, what buggies do you guys have to run?

My mate & I were at the St Ives track last Saturday. They have just resurfaced it & it was great, lbeit very slippery. The St Ives track is closer to the Central Coast as well.

As for runners, nothing like your collection, couple of Frogs (with vw bodies) re release Brat & almost finished a Wild one resto. The collection will grow though.

I am near the Casle Hill off-road racetrack, which is a good track but also very slippery due to the fine dust over a hard packed surface. 2WDs are very hard to control.

For vintage off-road runners, I have a Fox, Falcon, Frog (original), Grasshopper and a Super Shot. I have a new built ready to run re-re Top Force too, but it's too nice to run!

I was down at the Castle Hill track a few months back with my Frog, Fox and Super Shot (with original Technipower). Have to say, I was impressed with the Super Shot, it was keeping step with the other more modern buggies on the track, and I was even able to overtake a couple of times on the straight - but I think they were only running 27 turn standard silver cans.

Always fun to run the older cars at the public tracks, you always can hear the odd person mutter, "Wow, a <insert car name here>. I remember those!"

Well,i'll be running my vintage buggies on the 11th of August in Sydney.I have never driven on the St Ives track so its going to be the pic for the day at this rate.Darryn (retro r/c) will most likely be there with a heap of very interesting vintage buggies too.It would be a lot of fun to see you boys all there too and there will be camera's snapping away for possible future magazine articles too  .I am available most days on 0402203004 sghould anyone want to chat.Cheers-Jason.

Hopefully I will be able to get there - other commitments may make it a little difficult though. I will be making an extra effort though as St. Ives was my "home" track when I lived in Sydney.

I will have to move this thread into the "meetings and events" section of this website in the next day or so - as I think that is a more appropriate area for this discussion.

Hey All,

Jason, you friend Scott wouldn't be a pilot by any chance would he? (just have an old workmate by the same name)

I am moving house on that weekend, so my buggies will still be packed up, but will try and get down to say a quick hi and have a look.

I haven't been to the St ives track since I was a Kid.

Have been to the Castle hill track a couple of times during the week recently as it will soon be my local track and would agree it's Very slippery, the Fox is quite a handful with its ball diff now! but it is quite a nice little track. even when it's muddy. Eg a pic of my DF03

I thought that I had already replied to this.

I am in Brisbane and would be up for any vintage get together that I could get to.

Even if I can't get to one I still want to see pics, why should it only be the guys from Europe that we get to see?

I'll be home at Christmas. Gold Coast, Perth, and Syd at various times.

I'll be happy to bring along on or two cars :( (except the bruiser!)

Just so long as we can confirm it before I leave europe ;)

Vintage meet!!
