Differences Between Astute And Super Astute

Recommended Posts

Since nobody is interested in my Super Astute parts for sale, I've decided to build one.

I much prefer the look of the original astute, so I'm wondering what the differences are. I know the wheels and tyres are different, but is there anything else? I have a feeling that the geartrain is different, how about the gearbox housing? Are the front ends the same?

Any help would be appreciated.

Fron and rear arms

Rear hubs

front bulkhead has a reinforcement

front and rear upper arms

steering rods

front knuckles

battery position

gearbox, gears and slippery clutch

other little bits

These are the different things of a Super Astute. Believe me, the SA is better than the Astute, heavy, over enginered and fragile.

Which do you guys think is more "shelf-worthy"?

I don't plan on running it, I just want it to look nice.

So can I build an Astute from a Super Astute chassis and gearbox housing?

No opinions, eh?

I think I'll do a Super Astute with Astute body and wheels. What do you think? The bodies are the same, yes?

Yes the shells are Identical <_<

I personally aren't a fan of the boxart Super Astute scheme, I'd go the Astute boxart definitely! I have a new built Astute done in boxart and dang it looks sweet! I do have the luxury of having a Super Astute runner which I've done in the tamiya purple/green (ps46?) flip paint that looks stunning on the track ;) but it's up to your personal taste really. What decals (if any) do you have? If you need decals the Astute decals are easier to find and alot cheaper than the Super's so take that into consideration too. Another point to consider is the shocks which are gray on the Super Astute.
